The impressive 70 foot tall monument (also called the Duke of Sutherland Monument) that stands on top of the Lileshall hillside, with it's beautiful views of the surrounding countryside is hard to believe that it's only 443 feet above sea level, because you can see for miles and free to visit, which this day and age is always good. The Duke of Sutherland was a descendant of Richard Leveson (1598-1661), buried in Lilleshall church, who acquired Lilleshall Abbey and...

The Lilleshall Monument, or just Lilleshall Hill to the locals is an amazing local attraction. It's nestled between Telford and Newport and gives unparalleled views, for the effort. A very short walk from your car to the monument, gives stunning panoramic views of Shropshire, all the way the Welsh hills, Stiperstones, Wenlock Edge and of course, it's big brother, the Wrekin. A beautiful spot for a quick picnic and to take in the beautiful...
