We visited at the weekend for my birthday and had 4 activities booked (aero, flyer, karting and velocity). We had texts the previous day warning us of weather issues and potential delays however we decided to travel and see what we could and couldn't do. As we booked 4 activities we knew we would be there all day so we allocated that time. We arrived to be told that our first activity at 11am (aero) was not running and would be tested again at 12 due to the strong winds. Flyer was still available and the karting and velocity would be running after lunch which was fine as we wasn't booked in till the afternoon. We did the flyer which we enjoyed but could see why it was for kids too and both zip lines weren't open so we had to do the same one twice instead. Aero eventually opened however this overlapped with our karting so we had to get that one refunded, which I was glad of as some people kept getting stuck and didn't get the full experience of it. It did later close for the day. We made our way over to the karting which was about a 10 min walk and got kitted out with helmet and gloves. We then got in the red vehicle to take us to the beginning of the course which I didn't realise was next to where velocity starts. We picked our karts and they explained do's and don'ts and off we went. The course was good but my other half (male) enjoyed it more than me. We did have a surprise at the end as you actually get 2 go's which we didn't know so off we went back up the hill and I enjoyed it more on the second go. We then had 40 mins to wait until we went for velocity so we went to the bar and had some Dutch courage πŸΊπŸ˜‚. For velocity we was booked in at 4:20 we got there at 4 and waited 10 mins for the rest of the group to come and then we had a briefing, got kitted out and went to the first zip line (you actually do 2 zip lines). The first one was lower, not as long or fast as the big one which you would expect and the aim here is to warm you up for the main event and go through the checks and what it will be like. We got told that you do 30 to 40mph on the smaller one and then between 70 and 100mph on the big but depends on the weather. Once done the first zip which was good fun but the ending is abit brutal on how you stop, as you do get jilted. We waited for everyone else and then got in the red truck to take you up to velocity. We had to stop half way up as the cabin at the top was to full as they where running behind. When we made it up there we waited about 30 to 40 mins for our turn. We did buy the camera which I wouldn't recommend as the angle is really not flattering 🀣 and you get about 4mins of footage and of that is less than a minute of the actual experience. The experience was great and it does look terrifying but you just got to embrace it and enjoy it. All in all it took 2hrs 40 mins from start (briefing) to finish (de-kitted) on velocity, so if you have family or friends waiting I recommend getting them a few beers in and texting them when you are next in line to go. Definitely recommend and want to do the Fforest...

Had a great time, bought the experience (velocity) for my husband as an early 60th birthday gift...he doesn't want a party and expressed an interest in doing something different. Everyone we/ I dealt with from start to finish was very friendly and efficient. I rang to enquire about the experience thinking we would have to book well in advance but because it wasn't the school holidays we were able to get a slot the next day. I chose an afternoon slot so we wouldn't have to rush to get there ( we live 2 hours away) as it turned out traffic and weather were in our favour and we arrived a couple of hours early and were prepared to sit in the sun and watch the world go by. Upon checking in we were given the opportunity to join an earlier group, so we did. From start to finish the staff were knowledgeable and friendly (especially Harry our instructor, sorry to everyone else whose names I can't remember) everyone was brilliant. Although it could be considered an expensive thrill, once you take into consideration the amount of people it takes to make sure your experience is as efficient and as safe as possible you can understand why. Money well spent in our view.... When you get to our age spending time together and trying something new is important and fun... I'm glad I splashed out so we could do it together 😁 so if you are on the fence as wether to give it a go then just go for it... you never know what is around the corner! Can't comment on the on site restaurant as we brought our own food and there were plenty of places to sit and eat as it wasn't that busy ( could be different during school holidays etc. last but definitely not least... thank you to Harry and the young lady at the "landing site" for taking our photos together it's not something we get very often. If anyone looks at the photo of us at the bottom... the little building near the top of the quarry behind/above our heads is where we...

I had a great time here, the experience is one which I was looking forward to prior to the pandemic. The world's fastest Zip wire, although I believe there is a caveat to this, if you have a hood on, this will slow you down, so you may not hit the fastest speed of up to 120 mph, weight also clearly plays a factor in how fast you will actually go as well. So do keep this in mind when flying through the air. Now the experience itself is amazing, for me I never felt like I was moving that fast, this likely due to the fact I was taking in the amazing views of the quarry and the mountains and sky, for those seconds I felt weightless and all my worries etc had gone. You get the opportunity to do two zips here, one is lower and slightly shorter, it lasts around 30 seconds, the second is much higher approximately 160 ft above sea level and lasts just under one minute, on a clear day you can see the Isle of Man (we were told). Overall the experience was great, was it value for money, I'm not 100% sure, it's very pricey for what you do, but I understand that there has to be a price to pay for something like this, upkeep, paying staff etc. You have to pay an extra Β£15 for a video if you want video footage of your "ride" you get two videos, one video is your whole second ride, and the second is an edited video with some generic footage of other people's experiences with your face put in occasionally, this video has some music added. Would I pay for this again, probably not, it's very pricey for what you actually get. The staff I encountered were nice and generally helpful. There is a restaurant, which serves ok (ish) food, it's not great for what it is, I had a chicken burger which I didn't finish, there isn't many places to eat nearby, so you'll have to make due with what they have to offer. It's a long day, so be prepared for this. Overall a positive experience, take in the sites and all they have...
