We wild camped in the carpark on a recent visit, a lovely peaceful night in the motorhome...made even better by the aircraft taking off and flying over us from the RAF base. Also, once they'd finished for the day and the skies cleared, the spectacular display of Swallows appeared...well over 100 of them flying around catching their tea perhaps. A great place for a wander, just remember to keep your doggos on leads to protect the ground nesting birds.

Small Nature reserve with lakes and lots of different birds, small carpark, this is right next to the Valley airbase. Please 🙏 take your rubbish home and keep dogs on leads because of ground nesting birds. Shame someone has vandalised one of the benches 😡 and left some Litter... Idiots, we need more green spaces for wildlife and to be left alone

OK, not the best of photos, but as a regular walker around RSPB Valley Wetlands, it was my first ever spot of a Kingfisher there (he’s sat on the post). A great place to walk, for birds, for trains, and for planes !

Visited after a dive trip to Ravenspoint Rd, Trearddur Bay, Holyhead. So an afternoon and a morning. Stayed over at Valley Hotel to make it a mini-break.

Lovely, wild area. The Wetlands are quite far from access, so even a telephoto lens struggles. Saw quite a bit though. Found a lovely bridge off the beaten path and spent some time with the fish and Dragonflies.

Usual sporadic dog poo and dogs off leads, but it's mostly devoid of trash and wasn't very busy.

I'd make more walkways and maybe bridge the islands with a hide or two.

Nice views of surrounding Wales and close, very to RAF Valley.

Great place. Needs to...

A small but pretty reserve opposite RAF base. Has car park. Lots of orchids (visited early July) visible from the path. Reeds block the lake view from the path, however the path takes you up to a mound from which you can view the lake in front and behind. Only spent 30 mins there and saw mainly warblers, mallards, Coots, Moorhen, Greylag. It was noisy with RAF planes taking off...
