The Blue Lagoon is accessible on foot from Abereiddi carpark or by the sea. Weather permitting, and around high tide, it's a short paddle from the shore over to the entrance (just out of view from the beach). At lower tide levels there wouldn't be any access by sea as the rocks are exposed. We arrived just before high tide, leaving us with plenty of time to explore after we set off by canoe.

The Lagoon really does have a strong blue tint from the surrounding slate remaining from the old mine. Lovely and sheltered from the wind and swell once you're inside.

There's plenty of parking spaces at a reasonable charge. Just take care as you drive along as it's surfaced by loose beach pebbles.

A lovely afternoon spent here with a short paddle and finished off with a relax...

Great place, we've been back twice. the first time we arrived it was already dark, but it was still very beautiful, we rented a hotel nearby and returned in the morning for the second time. Great national fund if you want to swim or walk along the coast, parking for cars near the beach, snack van, there were also guys who offered diving services which included a walk along the coast and something else, but we did not ask since it was very cold and we did not dare. The lagoon itself is an old quarry, the water was very blue and beautiful, when we admired the lagoon, we climbed higher up the mountain, from where even more gorgeous views opened up. Therefore, I strongly advise you to visit this place, such beauty is never forgotten and you want to return...

We took the long drive from our holiday home to here and when we arrived I was shocked to find a parking attendant charging £5 per car to see a naturally made place which I thought was a bit pricey, but after walking to the Lagoon and the surrounding area I can see why, the place is absolutely beautiful with stunning views all round and very clean. The only downside about this place is getting to the little round castle thing which is difficult to get to as you need to slide down a slope on one end, then climb up steep rocks on the other end which is a little tricky and it's not for people who can't climb. Other than that it's well worth a visit.

Overall I would give this place 10/10 and I will come back if we go on...

We took a drive out to Abereiddi (30 min walk if staying at Caravan & Camping club site) on a beautiful but cold early April evening. Easy enough to get to although as you will expect in this area, most points of interest are down single track lanes. You can park directly on the beach, a suitably sized free car park, which I imagine fills up quick in the summer months. We were greeted by a group of wild swimmers taking an evening dip and thought they must be mad, while at the same time praising their get up and go spirit. The Blue Lagoon is only a short, moderate walk of about 5 to 10 minutes. If you’re not planning on swimming, we would highly recommend a cliff top walk as some of the views are just spectacular.
