A wonderful place to walk in nature and to find peace. If it wasn't for Cory's Riverside waste from Energy building works, you would see the green of the reserve in all directions. The reserve has wonderful and diverse habitats for a plethora of species of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, moths including some very rare species only found on the reserve. So it's really important everyone signs the on-line petition to save Crossness Nature Reserve and object to Cory's plans to build a carbon capture plant by the compulsory purchase of 12% of the thriving nature reserve land. This nature reserve is precious and belongs to our...

Awkward access but worthwhile. Large expanse of managed scrub and marshlands spread under the looming massive Crossness Incinerator Plant and sewerage complex. An off-piste outing for those craving solitude, nature and dedicated bird-watchers. No toilets. Best avoid approaching from the west on a dismal and dilapidated stretch of the Thames Path past the historic old Victorian Palace of Sewerage. Execrably...

I'd give it 5stars But it's a little(ALOT) isolated, there's no officials in the area. I wouldn't suggest women go there alone as usually very quiet. Great photo opps and lots of interesting species can be seen. A real jewel in Thamesmead's Crown! Also it's only a short distance to the river walk along the Thames. Not very suitable for wheelchairs or scooters that struggle with...

It is a semi nice place to visit, not much of a path for visitors and the signage is very poorly designed. We got lost twice before actually finding the correct river path. There are other nature reserves much better than this one. It also felt very isolated and lonely there until we got to the river path, so quite dangerous for young women to visit. Personally I would not recommend it.
