My partner and I have been regular visitors to The Morgan for Sunday carveries over the past two years, and we've always enjoyed the experience. Following the recent refurbishment, we were looking forward to returning and decided to book a table online, as usual, after checking your website — which still clearly advertised a Sunday carvery. However, upon arrival, we were surprised and disappointed to discover that the carvery was no longer being served, despite no updates or notices to that effect on your website. While this was frustrating, we chose to stay and ordered from the main menu instead. I opted for the roast beef dinner. Unfortunately, what followed was far worse than a change in menu. We left the restaurant at around 1:30pm. By 3:00pm, I had begun vomiting violently. After nearly 11 hours of continuous vomiting, I attended hospital and was diagnosed with food poisoning — which the medical team confirmed had been contracted within hours of eating. At the time of writing, I am still extremely unwell, having endured over 28 hours of severe symptoms. This experience has left us both deeply disappointed and concerned — not only due to the misleading information online but, more importantly, due to the serious health implications following our meal. After many visits and positive experiences in the past, this was sadly a “Sunday carvery you'll remember” — but for entirely the wrong reasons. Given the circumstances, I feel it is only right to raise this matter formally. I would urge you to review both the accuracy of the information provided to customers and the food hygiene standards in place. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be eating here again.

Really disappointed with our meal here. It used to be a proper carvery but nowhere on the Morgans website does it say they’ve stopped doing it. Instead, we got served small, underwhelming plates of food. We ordered 2 roasts and a “lighter burger.” The roasts were poor... Hardly any veg, average meat, and potatoes that tasted like plastic (my mum even paid nearly £3 extra for just three tiny pieces). For over £15 a plate, it’s shocking value. The burger was no better. Dry, bland and the side salad was supposed to have quinoa but had barely a teaspoon. When it was brought out, the woman serving literally just dashed the plate down and walked off. It looked as bad as it tasted. To make things worse, no one came over to check on our meals at all. For a bill of nearly £50 just for the food (and over £60 with drinks), the service and quality were both appalling. It honestly feels like the money has been spent on refurbishing the place instead of putting any care into the food. Such a shame, as it used to be worth coming here when it was still a carvery. Won’t be returning.

This was our first visit to the Morgan pub at Belvedere and we will definitely visit again. The place is easy to find and has plenty of parking. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and even though we hadn’t booked and they were very busy with a children’s Halloween party, they quickly found us a table in the garden area which was clean and well designed. The food cooked by Ty was delicious: the classic chicken burger and the mixed grill were amazing and my vegan salad was super tasty. It is rare to find really nice vegan food anywhere so it was a lovely surprise. Michael served our food and was very kind and attentive, checking back with us to make sure we were happy. The portion sizes are generous and we left full and very happy. There were so many choices that we will definitely visit again and try other dishes.

I wanted beef bourguignon from your festive menu (I had received an email saying that it was running from 25/11/22-24/12/22) and was told that was only on the menu for the 24-25 December only so I ordered the steak deal for myself with a prawn cocktail starter, for my wife I ordered Brie dippers starter and Hunters chicken for the mains I said about the mains offer cosy 30 for 30% off of my wife's main and was told that it had ended and I said that it still had 2 days left. I was not given the 30% off and did not get the dinner that I wanted. When the starter came my wife enjoyed it however my prawn cocktail had a sauce that was like water not the creamy sauce that usually comes with it. I ate it anyway but when the mains came the chips were cold (not even warm) my steak was barely warm, my wife's Hunters chicken was cold as well as the chips. I told them that it was cold and they brought us some more chips (which were nice and hot) but I said that the rest of the dinner was cold so they took them away and said that they would put them back on the grill. When they returned our meals with fresh chips the meals were warm not hot, the steak was warm but otherwise good, my wife's Hunters chicken was then very dry. We ate the dinner as we were hungry my wife left a lot of hers as it was too dry, we ordered desserts my wife had ice cream which she enjoyed and I had sticky toffee pudding with custard which was very good. I was very disappointed as the person that served us was completely unaware of your offers and menu's and we did not receive what we wanted and the condition of the starters and mains was also very disappointing. We were at the Morgan two weeks ago and had a very good meal and we were very surprised by how bad our meal was this time, we have been to the Morgan many times and felt that things were improving each time until yesterday. I hope that you take notice and rectify this as we usually enjoy our meals at the Morgan and would like to continue going there but not if our next meal is...

Today I had the displeasure of eating at this pub. As I arrived I noted that everyone queued ahead of me was asked 'smoking or non smoking'. However I was not given the same courtesy. I was seated in the smoking section between two tables puffing away at their cigarettes and was told if I need anything to wave however no one makes eyes contact when they walk past; i felt very much like the customer they didn't really want there. I made my order and pay for it online. The food arrive approx 20 minutes later, I ordered a hunters grill chicken meal. It was missing the onion rings however was replaced by two short black hairs which I alerted the waitress to. Two onion rings were later brought over to me after I highlighted they were missing, however at no point did anyone come to whether I was OK and how was my meal.

Updated- on my way out I spoke to the man who was seating everyone and said I noticed you've asked everyone whether they'd like to sit in smoking or non smoking but never asked me, he instantly became defensive and said its nothing against you I just wanted to get you seated very quickly and only thought you'd be here for 30 minutes (bear in mind there was loads of seating available); this completed puzzled me as he was aware that I was having lunch and I can only eat as fast as the food comes out, dear I say it? The only difference between me and everyone sat in that garden was race.

Over all a mediocre meal and not so great service. Next time I'll save my money and go to the Starbucks...
