This is quite a good fun course and like people say, its tricky. All holes are very different and so makes for compelling rounds. It's par 68 and not a long course, but there are lots of trees that obscures or makes the fairways quite narrow so requires accuracy and good course management. The grasses are kept fairly well but don't expect any excellent standard here, greens are normally damaged by pitch marks but the course is very much playable. For the price (under £20 depending on whether it is peak) is reasonable especially as buggies can be booked for £12 during off peak times.

East London’s Hidden gem. Poor condition, frighteningly narrow fairways, fearsome rough. But usually approaching empty, and a stunning wetlands setting make it a real hidden gem. Front nine is a lap of the lake: beautiful. Back nine is wider fair, for those with a big club in the bag, but fairways at awkward heights, and a couple of doglegs, keep things interesting. Zero facilities, so pack appropriately. You can whizz round the front nine in 90mins solo if you just hit the fairways. Great fun

I've been playing golf here for almost a whole season and am really enjoying the course. My regular golf buddies have been members or coming here for years and I can see why. Cheap green fees and friendly helpful staff. The course is challenging for novices and I'm sure a few holes would put even the best under pressure. Unfortunately the cheap green fees mean that often that's what the greens look like....cheap and the fairways dry.

It's unbelievable to me that this goat track has a 4 star Google rating. I have probably played hundreds of courses and Lee Valley is one of the worst I have ever played. I don't think the £18.50 green fees are even good value - for an extra £5 or so you could play on a real golf course that is properly maintained and laid out. Lee Valley has tees that I have not seen before, the grass is 3 inches long, except for the parts that are bare dirt. It's actually pretty difficult to figure out where to tee up. The greens don't have much undulation and when I visited didn't seem to have been cut for about 10 days. The grass was very furry (except on the many bare patches) and you just had to hit the ball very hard and straight at the hole. The course seems to be trying to cater to beginners and the very casual golfer but the design isn't really appropriate for that as the first 13 holes or so are extremely tight and need irons off the tee and a lot of accuracy. The layout makes no sense, there are some mickey mouse 80 yard par 3 holes and then they throw in a 205 yard par 3 with a blind tee shot.

London has a lot of good golf courses that are not too expensive. Lee Valley is just cheap and nasty. It's hard to see what they are spending all the green fees on as it certainly isn't mowing, maintenance, providing sand for the...

It's quite a large site and they are general with the electric 15amo and no restrictions.

Launderette on site but only one machine working.

Mens toilets are a bit outdated with dead flies all over the wall, not being washed down. The showers do have hot and cold adjustments which is nice these days but no facilities to dry your hands as that doesn't work. No probs if you want to have a shave in the sink.

Nice pitch size with a lot of room and a great play area for the kids.

TV signal is good in this area and 3 mobile is on 5g with over 300mbs.

20 mins walk to the nearest newsagents / shop

This is in a ulez area so we minimised vehicle usage.

I feel Price was a little too much for this site so assume it's the cation that...

Returned to this course after 8 year break Well despite longterm mis management by the lee valley park authority some how this course is still going The pro shop has gone no golf pro or clubhouse infact not anything just a campsite and tents I paid £11 online teed off at 6am I loved playing the course again Trees has matured The view over the lake magic Greens still green slow but better than being dry Some of the holes are brilliant like 4th 6th 8th You have to hit it straight or lost ball Only 2 greenkeepers are employed and they were out working early

It is a shame that some resources are not spent on this course I will go again enjoyed it No doubt this course will close at...
