Flowing onto the Coal Drop-yard retail development this meticulously landscaped zone with fountain features extending into a manicured lawn and residential developments near Granary Square. ➖ Revisited 4years later ➖ Seamless integration now with this area now multi-functional as both public space and event/function zone. Still unconvincing as a destination but certainly pleasant and relaxed.

The coal drops yard area has been transformed from industrial wasteland to the repurposing of the original industrial buildings and warehouses to shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Glad to see the area has been put to good use, as there were some iconic (if not dive) clubs in the area which put London on the club scene during the rave years.

Very imaginatively re-developed area which maintains some traditional buildings with a modern feel. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants set round the Regent's Canal. We actually went there to visit the Lightroom for the David Hockney exhibition. It was absolutely brilliant.

The new civic square at King's Cross

This new civic square is on Stable Street, just moments from Granary Square. The square is designed by Laurie Olin who also designed Bryant Park in New York. It features Laurie’s hallmark arching water jets and is a great spot to relax, play and enjoy the goings on. The water feature is cut into the eastern side of the square with plenty of seating nestled among the flowerbeds.

Events at Lewis Cubitt Square

With space for over 2,000 people, the square hosts markets, outdoor cinema, concerts and events year round. Martin Whitelock of MW5 Fitness runs the popular KX Bootcamp workout here. Check the event’s calendar for session times. You can find out what’s happening at King’s Cross at What’s On. The square can also be hired for public and private events. Find out about hiring event space at...

Gentrification all over Camden, the loss of authenticity and the culture. One more area that has the same glass, cement, expensive vibe as many in London, the green areas look fake. Lack of affordable meals without a hit in the wallet if you just want to enjoy the food out with a bit of sun, well I guess you have to move somewhere else. Some of the local securities seem to have a problem with atitude. I live a few meters away and every time I come down to chill here I got some sort of...

Not a lot to do at the moment - due to covid-19. Still a lovely atmosphere and a great place to walk, photograph, meet friends (there really is plenty of space for distancing). This place is epitome of "cool-chilled" London. Usually bustling and bursting with activities, no doubt it will soon be back. In the meantime go visit now. Help businesses stay open and it really is a great place to be. Nice walk along the canal to #camden and up to #littlevenice and much more...
