While the kids play area and sports facility are good ( most of it looks fairly new) the grounds themselves for those who just want to walk their dog or go for a picnic isn't great. A lack of bins means overflowing bins and rubbish all around them. Further, there's a large disused bowling green and club house - why cant the council simply open this space up as say a a dog park or another adventure playground or even make a Lido? The local support is there, it could be charity and private funded /lotto cash. Its also a shame smaller parks have cafe's and this has nothing.

The park is big enough and with proper infrastructure for sports like tennis, basketball, soccer, skateboard, athletics in general. There is also a nice and big kids area with plenty of games. The downside to all this is the way it is managed and cared for: there is not enough lighting during the evening, so you cross is at your own risk, and despite the very recent addition of much needed waste bins the local populace has not yet been schooled on how to use them. Wasted potential, literally.

One of the best kids playgrounds in the area and they've planted some new trees which should make it better still. And there's an albino squirrel.

A perfunctory and unremarkable "rec", really just enough room to be a decent outdoor exercise yard and to stretch the dog's legs quickly. A flat landscape, carpeted almost entirely with nature-killing grass. It was very much the habit of planners only 2 or 3 decades ago to design green spaces like this. The recent change of letting the grass overgrow especially at the fringes is a subtle admission of past overzealousness to health and safety regs over human exposure to nature; plus, frankly, just utter public sector short-sightedness over issues like biodiversity, sustainability, local food sourcing, the importance of trees etc! And I must add one further gripe which is the building that was presumably the principal facilities venue in the park. It is now in ruins completely boarded up daubed in uninteresting black spray paint markings which are refused to call graffiti it looksl hideous and it makes you feel like we're in a country...

Such a potentially lovely place. But... There is dog poo, quite a lot, so you have to be careful where you walk.

Ditches holes, trenches. Beware! I had an accident with a buggie down a huge trench like ditch which was not visible and almost injured the babies in the buggie. But the worst part..!!!! there are no toilets!!!! Caution - every tree has pee or poo under it. Its such a shame as this place has huge potential. Its location and equipment make it a very convenient place to go for quick play, skate, baaketball or even tennis.

Children's playground is quite good and has something for all ages.

Unfortunately there's a mono poll (mobile phone mast). Not a great addition to any child play area...but there you go. Just don't take the...

Was there today with Bustawidemove , been clearing the walls of Ivy and Brambles for the Up and Coming , legal Graffiti walls . Litterpicking , bit it's likely the Council won't hold their end of bargain and clear up the cuttings and waste .

Needs moar trees ! 🌳

Thinking I might full in the hollow tree stump with compost/soil and plant one near the Graffiti Wall .

Was there a few weeks back for SNCF Festival

Shame the Bowling Green has been left to ruin 😕

Lots of kids using the Skatepark . But to be honest , the skate park needs to be bigger .

Good round excercise circuit and for walking dog .

Pretty average large...
