The Treffry Viaduct spans the stunning Luxulyan Valley and is a testament to the engineering and construction skills of the time. Take a look at the massive granite blocks at the base and try to imagine trying not only to fashion one to its correct size but then trying to move it into place. I grew up in the nearby village so this was my playground back in the 70s, now I'm here with my daughter and Grandson and the viaduct is the same as it's always been although access to the top is definitely safer now. There isn't anything like a gift shop , Cafe or toilet block to spoil this place so just bring a picnic, sit down and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this once bustling industrial site, it really is a hidden gem in the heart of Cornwall. The viaduct itself is an amazing feat of construction, having gone up in just three years. It actually is both viaduct and aquaduct, although it no longer carries water due to silting up of surrounding supply channels.

A most agreeable walk across the viaduct, which was much like the ones Uncle Quentin used to pay for, and then down to the old water wheel and slip incline. Much like the ones Uncle Quentin used to own. Still in reasonable condition and some useful signs on how Uncle Quentin used to keep the locals in gainful employment.
