Visited this hidden gem this morning. Wowzers, what an absolutely stunning venue for water sports!
It was booked by our friend so we didn't know what to expect, but it will defo be on our list of places to revisit.
The staff Immy and Milly were extremely professional, approachable and friendly from the moment we arrived at Reception, to the moment we left. Immy addressed our group with a safety talk, issued and checked the fittings of life jackets and was our lifeguard on the water for the duration of our stay.
The water in the quarry was so warm, we didn't need wetsuits (even though there were plenty available for all sizes.)
Our booked slot was at 1pm, but we arrived 30 mins early as directed for the safety talk and wetsuit/life jacket fitting.
There are individual changing cubicles too.
There is a lovely indoor viewing area to sit in, with top to bottom windows to sit by and watch.
We'd opted for the inflatables and were not disappointed! There was lots of variation in the inflatable course.
Immy was also very interactive with those on the course, whilst still maintaining her primary role of lifeguard.
The hour went quickly and once out, dried and dressed we went into the viewing/Reception area where there is a well stocked fridge. We needed a cold drink after the fun had in the water!
Immy also told us that they hope to have a sauna there in the not too distant future!
A huge thanks to Imny and Milly for a really positive experience!
We hope to return soon to try out the other...
Read moreWent here today and had a fabulous time. The price was very reasonable which included a wet suit and buoyancy aid.
The place was easy to find and not too far from Falmouth and Truro. It included free parking which was very close (50 metres)
The staff were very friendly, helpful and patient with the adults and kids when swapping equipment to fit.
The event started with a safety talk which was obviously needed but not stretched out.
Then it was time to go on the inflatable Park which was great. You were given the freedom to have fun and that's just what everyone did. There were obstacles to climb over, slides and jumps as well as a trampoline. We had a riot.
The water was cold initially but you seem became use to it and the hour flew by due to the fun we were all having.
There is a little coffee hut that sold cakes but can't comment on its quality and value as didn't visit it.
My way of improving the place would be to have showers for people to have a clean afterwards but that may not be easy due to cost and drainage etc.
Overall a great, fun place that is, in my opinion, great...
Read moreWe found this on line whilst looking for an open water swimming venue and ended up booking to do the wipeout aqua slide and wake boarding.
Arriving you head down a tatty old track to the bottom of an old quarry and head to a blue prefab building that looks like it should be on a construction site (there are even pairs of rigging boots and boiler suits by the door) but once inside you are in a little quarry oasis. The building is glass fronted giving a great view of the activities and there is an outside area with bean bags.
There is also food and a bar!
The staff were very friendly and you feel very safe the whole time.
You get an hour on the wipeout inflatable and when you swim out to it you wonder how you will fill your hour, but time flies when you are having fun. After sliding, slipping, jumping and falling off everything you find your time is up before you know it!
Wake boarding was great , you book 15 minute slots and in that time you get coached (total beginners here and we all got up and going) to what ever level you are at.
The place is fantastic and I highly recommend it...
