What an amazing place to visit / walk/ hike. I did a circular route that started near the Goyt Valley reservoir, took me to Shining Tor and back to where I parked. I read reviews before I chose this walk and certainly wasn't disappointed. One review said that there was many little gems and surprises along the way...and they were correct! The views were amazing, it was very peaceful and tranquil, and it's a cracking route! The circular route was about 8 miles. The majority of it was average gradients with only one section uo to Shining Tor that was a little steaper / challenging. Overall, this is one of my favourite walks I've done. It's only 4 miles from Buxton too! Elwood Hall was amazing too, seeing what remained, and the history attached to it. I'm certainly not a seasoned hiker, but really enjoyed this. I completed it in under 3 hours, and that included many stops / photo opportunities.
There's many car parks / laybys...and they'll all free to park!
Wold recommend to anyone with an average level of fitness. Even those with lesser ability would still...

Be careful on this route though as it is quite open and so exposed to strong winds and there's no where to hide if the heavens open, so come prepared. The stone path is also very slippery when wet...
