One of my favourite dog walks and is fantastic for kids too. There's a small stream running through the length of the woods, with access to both sides of the bank via a number of (rather ramshackle) crossings. If you're brave enough then some of the rope swings are easily usable, although maybe a touch on the dangerous side. There are also a couple of open spaces towards one end that would make cracking picnic spots.

There is also a small farm shop/honesty stall just about at the entrance on one end as well, which is nice.

It is definitely not accessible if you have mobility issues though - this is a (seemingly unmanaged) woodland, so the track down and the paths once in the woods proper can get boggy/waterlogged, with lots of tree roots etc protruding. Dogs really DO...

We were looking for an 'off the lead' walk with our dog while on holiday in Newlyn and discovered these beautiful Woodlands!

Even our two children who do not enjoy dog walks loved these woods! They were easily entertained with a few tricky crossings over the river (if you want to walk the other side of the river). For the less brave there is a slightly steadier bridge made from (some moving!) fairly thick logs...which I just about managed to walk/crawl across! However you do not have to cross the river and still enjoy the scenic woodlands.

A great day had by all and almost witnessed my husband die on one of the many tree swings!!!...lots of laughs in...

A rugged woodland ideal for dog walks. Parking is in the road so this could be an issue. Take stout walking shoes the trails are not flat but stony. Pretty stream all along the walk crossing is where you find a wide stony shallow. Following the paths to the end there are some lovely surprise openings in the woods. Dense shrubbs....

Awful place difficult to find mud swampy insect infested rocky hard to navigate dead trees all scattered around torrent of a dirty smelly river no easy crossing places ,make shift bits of fallen rotten wood roped together as excuses for bridges and f.o.bramble bush walls with no defined hiking booted tourist signage, love it lets keep it localx
