we went in the autumn which isnt the prime time as this is cleary a spring garden full of magnolia and camelia however it was still a beautiful walk. the tree fern dell was absolutely stunning and the pond surrounded in japanese anemone and colourful acers simply striking. For the horticulturally minded the specimin trees. champion trees and rare species which are very unusual in the uk and well worth a look. At just 7.50 the entry is more than reasonable for a cornish garden. parking is plentiful. toilets are open and their is a cafe serving the classic cream teas lunches and drinks. with a large outside seating area and a few indoor tables it is nice and accomodating. The current events mean maps arent provided although there is one you can photo (we tried to use it but found too much interesting things off the main route so soon ended up going off peg. If you do this be aware there is a lot within a small area and its easy to miss sections. dont be afraid to double back and try the little paths. For those who are more history minded the gardens are built on old mineworkings which are evident in the shaping of the ground now. Around the garden are numerous water containers turned into small wildlife/flower ponds all made from old equipment and make a lovely addition...

An amazing place run by people who care!

Our second visit to the area in as many years and we finally went to Trewidden instead of driving by commenting that we must go there! What a great decision.

We aren’t easy to accommodate with a baby and a dog but Trewidden delivered.

This place is wonderful. A little calm oasis. We had lunch at the tearoom and the food was beautiful and clearly prepared with thought and pride. The service was excellent. The staff enjoyed engaging with their customers and we heard more than one member of staff welcome customers like old friends and take the time to make recommendations about other places to visit and enjoy in the area. We had the gardens explained to us by a lady who literally looked delighted to tell us all about them.

We wandered around the beautiful gardens and returned to the tea room for a cream tea. Do not leave without having the cream tea. Outstanding!

Thank you Trewidden for a lovely afternoon. We will be back...

A wonderful, peaceful garden winding through a delightful collection of mostly Asian trees and shrubs. There are also the remains of a walled garden, a large pond and a water feature to enjoy. Large trees provide a cool and shaded walkway through the garden, which we managed with a baby buggy. There are a few bumpy bits on route but they can be managed with a buggy in tow if care is taken. I noticed many different herbaceous fragrances in the air today. There was much to enjoy in the different types of trees, ferns and other plantings. We had tea and cake at the end of our walk, which took us over an hour. The quality of the tea and cake was very good indeed, with generous amounts of jam and cream provided with the cream tea we ordered. Service was very friendly and the staff seemed genuinely happy and relaxed. A...

Review of Trewidden Garden Trewidden Garden is a charming and peaceful place for a stroll, rich in beauty and history. The garden is well-maintained and offers a lovely escape into nature with winding paths, unique plants, and lush scenery throughout. It’s fairly wheelchair friendly—especially for motorized wheelchairs—but can be a bit challenging if you’re pushing a manual one, especially on some of the inclines. That said, the overall experience is still worth it. The entry fee is £10, and for that price, you get access to a beautiful garden that’s perfect for a quiet walk or simply soaking in the calm atmosphere. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast or just looking for a serene outdoor experience in Cornwall, Trewidden Garden is definitely worth a visit.

A lovely garden, which my companion described as a "lovely little wood". The magnolias and camellias were gorgeous at the end of February / early March and the tree ferns were truly outstanding! But there looked to be plants that would be very attractive at lots of different times of the year. When we arrived the helpful staff said it would take 1 hour and 15 minutes to follow the route around - which was precisely correct! We also reserved a table for lunch, which was a good idea, and the food was very tasty - you could go for sandwiches or soup or something more hearty. We greatly enjoyed our visit and would very much recommend this little gem!

Discovered this gem last year and we had to return. The gardens are beautiful and there's something interesting at every turn. With the map comes the Head Gardeners notes on what to look out for which adds to your walk. Lovely and shady when it's a scorching day and great for dogs. The cafe restaurant I can't recommend enough. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Lovely selection of cakes and drinks. I would add that the set up is good that you can just visit for the cafe and enjoy the view from the benches of you don't want to do the gardens. Will be back next year.
