What a fantastic place to spend a weekend with the family! This spot has it all – beautiful footpaths, for nature lovers. The trails are well-maintained and suitable for all ages, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone in the family. For those interested in birdwatching, this place is a haven. There are numerous hides strategically placed, providing excellent opportunities to observe and photograph a variety of wild birds in their natural habitat. The car park is excellent and incredibly affordable, costing just £3 for the entire day. This small fee makes the visit even more appealing and accessible Overall Experience: This spot is definitely worth a visit. The combination of stunning natural scenery, affordable parking, and abundant wildlife makes it a fantastic destination for a family outing. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore this hidden gem – it’s well...

Lovely place to walk and watch birds. Downside is some people think it's a dog walk, it's not, it's a nature reserve! Well what a shock at the car park here's the email I've just sent: Whilst I am happy to pay £3 to park at Westhey. Your approach to a payment system at Westhey is beyond belief. Whilst it is a functioning machine it is discriminatory against those without a payment card. When not working you then assume everyone has an internet connection or wants one. Should someone have neither please explain how you a wildlife trust has the right to fine them £60. As a wildlife trust you are completely out of order and should be ashamed of implementing such a system and having it run by I have no doubt an aggressive fine seeking...

Not very impressed - preferred Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall by a long way as there was more access, and more life!!

The car park especially, nearly caught me out: as instructed I duly paid my £3 upon return to my car, the machine said "approved" but then rapidly returned to the Pay Now screen which made me suspicious. Sure enough, on checking my bank later I found payment hadn't been taken. Luckily you have time to pay after leaving but if I hadn't checked I would have had to pay a £60 fine. Beware all ye who come after!!!

And before anyone has a rant at my rant - yes...

It's a nice reserve,, but there is a lack of benches, there's a bench 3 minutes from the car park, and another 20 minutes from the car park,, they should have more benches for elderly people,, they seem to have spent a lot of money on a 4x4 kawasaki utility truck, stihl strimmers and stihl blowers, and new wheel barrows, they could of put new benches in without having to spend all the money on expensive equipment,, the tower hide is only access able if your wearing Wellington boots,, they should put some boarding down for people with walking shoes/boot's on.

Accepting you can't control the lack of wildlife, so a review based on the parking system instead; The Trust have chosen to go with the ironically named "parkwithease" service which apparently doesn't work. Machine out of action and the appended note suggests this happens often . Trying to pay online it claims we didn't visit. Meanwhile my family member with an annual permit is being threatened with court action for not paying despite sending back the the email confirmation and a bank statement. All a bit amateur.
