Christmas 2024 We came to pink pig farm last year for the quiet fireworks that were fab and wanted to see more so we’ve come back for Christmas. We drove from Cottingham, took about 35 minutes. Our son is a football mad, boyish 5 year old lad. He isn’t easily impressed lol. We’ve been to lots of meet Father Christmas things, such as William’s Den, Piglets Farm and the train one. My goodness this one is by far the best of the lot. I can’t rate it more highly! The value for money (£30 for north child) is crazy. They could charge more and we’d still come back. We had the full experience - we booked afternoon tea and the North Star child meaning we could also build a bear. It’s all worth doing. The afternoon tea is delicious and well worth it. The café is nice, although I think I would have rather been in the main bit rather than the reserved area but still , it was lovely. My only comment about it would be that cold drinks were not unlimited for adults - just a cordial would be nice lol. But the food either way is gorgeous!!! If you’re like me and have a really small appetite, you can take it home in a box of course 😋 The Build a teddy experience is fantastic. Better than build a bear itself. You can buy clothes for it for £5 extra.
The Father Christmas is lovely!! Nicest one and most talkative that we have met. He’s so chilled out and takes his time, doesn’t feel like one big rush. Perfect experience! Well done Pink Pig! It’s not just a photo opportunity it’s a real experience.
The toys are just wicked. Best “toy shop” of all the ones we’ve been to. Loads of it was sold in the shop, our son chose the reindeer teddy - had the price on it £10.99 in the shop, makes the day out even more special knowing the toys are good quality and not some cheap Temu stuff like other experiences.
Ginger bread making was cute. The barn itself is great, lots of fun. The owner was more than present, she was out clearing cups in the cafe. We spoke to her, she’s a very pleasant woman and easy to talk to. In the play barn they have a book swap thing going on, that’s lovely, nice idea guys! All of the elves were lovely, you were all great! Any negative reviews are genuinely crazy, this is so worth the time and money. All in all, would we be back? Definitely! See you...
Read moreThe Pink Pig is in a class of it's own. It's not just another Farm Park.
The animal welfare is taken very seriously here and on the farm trail you'll see that each of the generous, clean enclosures is an enriched environment with plenty to keep the animals engaged. The goats even have their own arial walkway and a lookout over the farm! It's a pleasure to see farm animals given this level of respect, even though some of them are destined for the dinner table.
Talking of the dinner table - the cafe is excellent and has plenty of choice for ethical meat eaters and cheese eating veggies. It's not so great for vegans but they'll do their best for you!
The Farm Shop carries butchery and deli items, jams and pickles, beer, cakes and more. We used to get our eggs here on a regular basis (we've since given eggs up as our little one is allergic to them) and they have gorgeous, creamy yolks.
The play barn has a lovely soft play area in shades of green and pink which makes it much easier on the eye than most! During our most recent visit we found the slides weren't very slidey so hopefully they'll get a good polish soon. There's a second cafe here so the kids can let off steam while you tuck in. And look out for the gift shop full of temptations!
Outside there is a huge choice of activities. Sand and water play, a mega mud kitchen, duck racing, a barn full of straw bales with rope swings, ride on tractors, a giant swing, tobogganing, a walk through the woods and everything you need to build a den. There's also a giant tractor with a big tube slide and tunnels through the "wheels" which is a lot of fun but very muddy on wet days!
For older kids there's a tree top trail (think Go Ape on a smaller scale) but check the opening times as it was closed during our last visit.
The whole place is beautifully presented and there's a sense that every aspect has been meticulously planned, and that's what really sets this place...
Read more2 adults and 2 children 2&5, cost was about £24 to get in. It's a bit confusing when you get in, nothing clearly signposted. You walk into a shop, pay to get in and then walk into an indoor play area. There is a door to go outside and see everything which wasn't clear. The play things on the field were ok, 2 of the 4 pumps on the duck racing don't work though, neither does the pump on the large sand pit. A short walk down and past a makeshift slide and you get to a small collection of rabbits, ducks and chickens. The total amount of small animals outnumbers the amount of pigs they have. To say it's called the Pink pig, we saw 1 sow with 4 piglets, and in a separate field are another 6 pigs, that's it. I'd say either get more pig related things, like pigs, or change the name of the place. Nothing else was pig related in the place apart from the indoor play area. There are some llama, donkeys, goats and sheep, but really, where are the pigs?? The kids wanted to feed the animals too, which isn't an option. There is a tractor ride, which goes every hour, we just missed it first time round, but there are no signs to say times it goes. It's also a little disappointing as you see all the same animals on the ride as the walk round, apart from the 6 extra pigs in the field. The cafe is expensive too, 2 kids sandwich meals, 2 sausage sandwiches with chips and 2 coffees and 1 coke came to £30.15. I would take my own sandwiches but don't fancy sitting out in the cold on a wet bench. Nothing to dry hands on in the male toilets, despite me telling staff still wasn't rectified an hour later. The kids did have a good time despite my negative comments, but when I compare this to places like cannon hall farm, for the money I think I would rather go...
