Fascinating history and a wonderful insight into the builders and owners of the castle. Have wanted to come and visit for many years but never been able to get to Hemyock on a Bank Holiday until today. It was worth the wait. Very knowledgeable lady introduced us to the castle who clearly was very passionate of her castle then left us to wander around the site. Recommend downloading the guide leaflet from the website or buy the guide book to fully understand the layout however there is a great Interpretation Centre within the castle grounds. Well worth the £1 to get in. The owners could charge much more and open for more days in the year but I can understand why they don't.
