Great place to go outdoors. There's a big confusion regards to the Minera Mines, that if it's a park or a Museum. Well it's a bit of both. The car park, the trails around mines are always opened everyday. The visitor center opening hours are normally 10 am to 4pm in weekends only in school term times. In school half term and term holidays it's normally opened 10am to 4pm all week. Please check with them before you visit if you want see the visitor centre which has some history exhibited about the place. Otherwise you can go there and enjoy at any time. Lots of trails leading to other places like Erddig, Kings Mill, Nant Mill. Good place to bring kids. Parking...

It's okay if you intend to walk your dog along the nearby trail which is advertised as a country park. Sadly the the 2 miles that we walked of it (to the former limestone quarry) was nothing more than a narrow gravel footpath which ended up crossing some people's gardens...
