Not the best beach I've been to! Access to the beach is terrible! Feel sorry for young kids, old people, anyone with disabilities or just anyone in general! Once on the beach there is a huge area of grass land and sand and then the beach is just full of stones and pebbles. Reception is hit and miss with the cliff sides and there are no shops or facilities unless you head all the way back up the steps and ramps! Only thing good is the view from certain angles. It's better to drive up the road to a better beach

It can be busy and dirty with litter near the holiday park but bimble towards Hartlepool or Blackhall and you'll have the beach to yourself. Regular beach clean ups keep it nice but if you visit when a clean up is due, there is a lot of plastic waste. Walk a mile in either direction and it's completely different. clean white sandy beaches. Sandbanjs lead to warm pools or spend the day looking for Crimdon Crystal. Have a pony ride along the beach and back through the dene or a game of golf. Or just chill.

Really lovely, kid friendly beach with miles of sand when the tide is out Very safe water, knee deep with a gentle slope and no rip tide Kids happily played in the shallows for ages Access is steep but kids managed as did loads of elderly folks I saw, no wheel chair access though Very natural setting , Great cafe at the top

Great beach. Some really good damp sand for sandcastle building or sand sculptures. Great flat sand for drawing pictures in. Some parts of the beach with small water pools so kids can play in water rather than having to be in the actual sea. Sea really nice though, nice waves. Only downside with this beach is the long walk down a sandy path, well going down is not so bad, it's going back up the path after your finished that is annoying! Long and steep and tiring after a long and physical day on the beach, especially for little legs if you have young...
