Church of St Morwenna and St John the Baptist — Attraction in Morwenstow

It's a 15 minute drive from Kilkhampton to this secluded church on the coast but very much worth it. Ample parking right by the church and it's also only ten minutes walk to the coast and Hawker's hut. The South Aisle of the church has the Hawker Memorial Window, which includes some interesting local details and even Hawker and his dog. As you walk down the sloping path to the church you'll pass a replica figurehead from the Caledonia (foundered September 1842), the original is inside the church. Well worth the effort to find this medieval church, which is full of history particularly relating to the eccentric vicar. A lovely secluded place near the coastal path and the vicarage. Long may this place of worship remain. We were touched to see several war graves in the churchyard. What a loss for...
