Woolacombe Beach is an absolute gem on the North Devon coast, with miles of pristine sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach is a perfect spot for families, couples, and solo travelers looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The beach offers a wide range of activities, including surfing, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding, and kayaking, making it a paradise for adventure enthusiasts. The stunning views of the coastline from the beach are breathtaking, with the rolling hills and greenery providing a perfect backdrop. The beach is well-maintained and spotlessly clean, with plenty of facilities for visitors, including showers, toilets, and beachside cafes. The lifeguards are friendly and vigilant, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the sea safely. Woolacombe Beach is also an excellent place to spot wildlife, with dolphins, seals, and seabirds frequently seen in the waters. The beach is surrounded by picturesque villages and towns, making it an ideal base for exploring the local area. The sunsets at Woolacombe Beach are simply stunning, with the sky turning a beautiful shade of pink and orange as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. The beach is easily accessible, with plenty of parking and good transport links. Overall, Woolacombe Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and beautiful beach holiday.

A nice lengthy beach with waves suitable for beginner surfing and swimming. The beach has a good and well sign posted system for dogs and is dog friendly on designated areas all year round. The part nearest the town is no dogs, then dogs on lead only, then further down the quieter parts are dogs off the lead. Whilst the system is good unfortunately a number of dog owners are either ignorant or rude and I saw off lead dogs on all parts. Moreover when you get to the point off the lead part, many people seem to have little control or care of their dogs actions and leave them to harass dogs like mine still on the lead. I feel like there could be better signposts explaining the flags used by lifeguards. It felt like a free for all other than one time they made an announcement that between one set of flags is designed to be surfers only and another swimmers/body boards only which is good system just not clear. Finally the beach does have a bit of a choke point that I found a little stressful, where you join the dog part of the beach is narrow with lots of people trying to get through.

What a beach, it’s large, clean and most of all Sandy. Plenty of space and we where here during a really hot sunny day and there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out and have fun. Couple of large car parks right next to the beach with short stay offers and to be fair £8 all day is better than most city centre parking. Surf school on site so if you want to learn you can. Lifeguards on patrol keeping everyone safe. The beach also had zone marked out for keeping dogs on leads. The beach overall is the best I’ve ever been to in the UK so clean and tidy hardly any rubbish (there is a clean up each night also) and plenty of bins dotted around so no real excuse. Queue for ice cremes can be long so be prepared. Little shop with everything you could need and forgot and not overly priced either. Best of all the beach faces west so prepare yourself for some epic sunsets. Highly recommend it

It says "the best beach in the UK" according to the TripAdvisor website. Well, if you haven't seen many beaches, you might believe it is the best beach, this all depends which perspective you look at it. Funny enough it isn't awarded Blue Flag. Nearest Car parks to the main flat entrance charges £8 until 8pm. And when the car parks are full/usually is full by noon , the other nearest is further up on top of the Hill, charging £5 , the problem is the distance from this car park to get to the beach and back, it's ok if you are fit, deffenitly not easy walk if with little children and also won't be a comfortable walk for the elderly. That's why in my opinion the car parks near to the main entrance are ideal , worth the extra £3. Beach must be ideal for surfing as I have seen many surfers in the Sea. Can't imagine how busy it can get during the school holidays as it was already busy/ crowded enough before the school holidays. Make sure you bring along all necessary stuff with you in your beachbag such as sandwiches, drinks etc. as the food and beverage prices can be expensive if you are coming down as a family. We did find the water a little cold to swim in, that's why maybe haven't seen many people swimming other then surfers. Too many dogs about (I love dogs but don't like dog poos). Life guards around and visible. Not accessible...

Lovely beach, good location lots of parking around which you do need to arrive early for if you want a spot in the car park by the beach. Toilets are clean and well maintained there is also an outside shower to use too. My only biggest downside to this beach was the dogs, I am a dog owner myself and love that they are allowed on here, we went on a very hot busy day and it was over run by dogs on leads. Each family setting up for the day had at least 1, 2 or even 3 dogs, i am sure there was more dogs than kids! It seems (as we moved from one side of the small steam to the other) you can have your dog on a lead anywhere along the beach, dog owners where using the ground anchors and long leads which was a huge nuisance and the constant barking was unbearable. We had paddlebaords and constantly had to navigate leads and dogs while carrying them to the water, small kids running around and tripping over leads. I think Woolacombe council should section off part of the beach to no dogs at all, the beach is more than big enough. I have been to many beaches in the UK which have no dogs allowed sections and have a designated section for dogs on...
