Ross, wildlife boat trip, Horsey. 15th October 2022.
Wow, this is a hidden gem what a fantastic morning we have just had.
We arrived at Horsey Windpump on Saturday. What a beautiful sight!, loads of car parking by National Trust (£3) with toilets available for all.
There was a Beautiful handcrafted sign directing us to the boat. Upon arrival we were met by Phillip our captain/skipper, and he’s very well-behaved beautiful dog called Alfie, who immediately became best friends with our four-year-old beagle who accompanied us. This is a very dog friendly trip.
Before we took off, Phillip gave us a very informative health and safety talk just to put us all at ease, which reassured us that we are in good capable hands.
The trip from start to finish was so informative, Phillip had so much knowledge of the Broads, its life, and the amazing wildlife that we saw on the trip, the highlight being a kingfisher.
Philip delivered so much information with humour, clearly he’s very passionate about the Broads and it’s wildlife, it really added to the atmosphere and ambience of this beautiful trip.
Can’t thank you enough Philip for such a wonderful morning.
Highly recommended. Peter, Matthew, and of...
Read moreMy family and i recently had the pleasure of embarking on Ross' Wildlife Boat Trip, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we laid foot on the boat, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. Our captains expertise and enthusiasm were contagious, as he shared fascinating facts about the diverse array of species encountered along our journey. The boat itself was well-maintained, comfortable, and designed to provide optimal viewing opportunities. Its spacious deck allowed everyone on board to have unobstructed views of the surrounding natural wonders. What truly set this wildlife boat trip apart was the personalised attention and care provided. He made everyone feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort throughout the trip. His friendly demeanor and willingness to answer questions made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, an outstanding experience that I would highly recommend to nature enthusiasts and adventure...
Read moreJust about the best hour+ we have spent in a long time. Phil (and delightful four-legged colleague, Archie) gave us a magical experience viewing the flora and fauna around, in, and above Horsey Mere and down towards Hickling Broad. Phil's passion and knowledge of this area was wonderful. He must have done this trip many times but even the jokes sounded fresh...just ;-) We saw so many wonderful things: Swallowtail butterflies, Spoonbills, Marsh Harrier, Buzzards, Reed Bunting and many more species. With the engine off the only sound was the wind in the reeds and the lap of the water. Magical. The booking system is delightfully quirky but it's the best £11 you will spend this year. Where else will you go on a small boat run by people that the swallows trust so much they have built their nest on board? Thanks Phil. It was...
