Longstone Lighthouse is a Beautiful place, and a Gret Half day Trip from Seahouses... With Golden Gate Boat Operators, They are the Only Operators who are allowed to land at Longstone Lighthouse.... Its place in Maritime History is without Question, built on the Longstone rock, in 1826 by Trinity House for the Welfare of Shipping of the Northumberland Shipping.... its most Famous for the Scene of the Forfarshire Wreck, and the Exploits of Grace Darling... a Daughter of the Lighthouse keeper in charge... Longstone Lighthouse was converted to Automatic Operation in September 1990,and is now controlled by Trinity House in Harwich Essex.... it has 116, 000 candles 🕯power, and can be seen for 18 Nautical miles........

A Must-Visit Historical Lighthouse!

Visiting Longstone Lighthouse is an unforgettable experience. Perched on the beautiful Farne Islands, the lighthouse offers breathtaking views of the North Sea. The boat trip to the island is an adventure in itself, with opportunities to see seals and seabirds along the way. The history of the lighthouse, particularly its connection to the heroic Grace Darling, is truly inspiring. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable and make the history come alive with their stories. Whether you’re interested in maritime history or just looking for a unique day out, Longstone Lighthouse...

Golden Gate Boat Tours are the only ones who can land here... A nice trip round the Farne Isles with George the skipper. Ailsa in the ticket booth was a delight. Amazing place to visit. Not often you get to go in a lighthouse, we went in as part of the boat tour that goes over there. Was a unique place to visit and highly recommend going up the tower for some good views from the top, the island the lighthouse is built on also is home to a number of seals so got to see some of them which was very interesting!
