We went as a family with our two children, boy aged two and a girl just over 6 months.

This place is seriously over priced. We’ve been to far better value farms than Cockfields… Smithills Farm comes to mind and is currently our favourite animals farm and great value. Cockfields Farm should really be called an activity centre with animals because there are so few animals there when compared to the activity/play areas.

The issues I have with this place are: Value for money, or lack of. Size, just too small. The tiny amount of time spent in the small petting barn.

Value for money, or lack of. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” It cost us almost Β£30 for three paid tickets and some animal feed. You go to these places expecting to see animals, and yes there are animals but the place is so small there just aren’t that many. For the price I was expecting to spend at the minimum a couple of hours viewing the animals but I think we’d seen them all after about 40 minutes… including having to queue to pet the small animals for all of two minutes. More about that below. More time is spent on the activity playground areas, which in fairness are really good and those facilities are excellent. But we didn’t pay to go to an activity centre, we paid to spend the time seeing animals.

Size, just too small β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” As i’ve mentioned above, the farm is just really small. There’s no way you could spend a whole day there. We were there for about three hours and most of that was in the play areas outside and in the picnic area.

The tiny amount of time spent in the small petting barn. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” There is a barn where you can pet some of the small animals they have which one the face of it sounded really good. We queued for about 5-10 minutes (which I totally understand given the situation everyone is in at the moment) to get in and once in we managed to get less than half way round before we were asked to leave. We’d been in there literally about two minutes. I spoke to the lady giving the instructions and I asked did she mean ALL of us as we’d were at the end of the queue that had been let in and we’d only been in about two minutes. She said yes because there are lots of people to get through but we were more than welcome to queue again! Understandably, our little boy was not happy at this at all.

All in all, not the greatest experience it has to be said. I’m sorry to say we wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t...

if you want to skip the review scroll to end for endless days out, not here, for the same price ticketfirst the price for me my mum and 4 kids(one is a baby) was Β£75 as the ticket price isn't enough you get charged a booking fee... Next the site is completely cashless which frustrated/ confused my mum who has dementia and dosent like using cards. Everything is marked up and every selling opportunity is took. Give the kids a free drink in the tiki bar... Tiny tiny cup but you have to wade through the toys on sale. Same with leaving, you have to go through the gift shop to leave. Plus sides the young girls working there worked their behind off today. Every activity on we saw the same 3 girls. Always polite friendly and probably on minimum wage. Down side today I saw a grandma pick a mobile phone up which had been left at ice cream counter. I heard her say I've just seen another woman looking for her phone so I will hand this in on way out. Cut the story short as we were leaving we were 2 cars up from the same grandma. Guy stomps over to them saying we saw you on cctv picking up the phone but we haven't seen where it is so do you have it. She looked so upset. No she said I was going to hand it in on way out but my daughter decided to join the foam party so I held my granddaughter. She said the phone was next to her. Anyhow she insisted she left it on the seat but the guy was very rude to her implying she had it. Which seat where? Don't believe you, she was nearly in tears. Do you want to check my bag? A white haired grandmother out with her grandkids and struggling walking from what I saw casually stealing phones. Think before you react people cos this dosent look good on you. So the young girls fantastic. The prices ridiculous. The other staff rude and arrogant. I remember this place as a simple farm shop and we bought our fruit and veg here. Expanded into money money money enterprise. Will I be back. No. Tell me what my 12 week old baby can do? Nothing. But they charge me Β£2 to enter with him. Top tip....For the same price as this was you can go to eureka for a full year whenever you want. Honestly.. My tickets expire 30th July 2025. side note I have read other one star reviews and my god farmer rip off dosent like it. Hate campaign, miss information, how dare you etc etc. Save your money go to Lancaster farm, Alex park, eureka,...

We attended the Christmas event this year - I purchased the tickets back in the summer when they were discounted but it still cost Β£80 for 4 of us (2 adults, 1 child and 1 baby). The fact we had to pay for the baby was ridiculous, but there was a charge as the baby would recieve a gift. If we had paid full price I would have felt severely ripped off.

The charge for the adults is also extortionate for saying all you do is accompany the child. Santa himself was good and he really engaged with my 4 year old. We also has a lovely family photo taken.

At every turn there is the chance to spend more money, for example, we wanted our Santa photo in a keepsake bauble, but this could only be purchased as part of a package and therefore ended up costing us Β£20! The marshmallow toasting, which I thought was included, also ended up being an additional cost. I think beause we paid so much for tickets, it was annoying to find so much was still extra.

The toy shop was not great - the toys on offer were just cheap plastic tat. The crafting room was dire and so dimly lit you could barely see. One member of staff handing out bits of paper for children to make cards... i mean come on! There are so many more crafts that could have been done.

Overall we managed to do most things quite quickly and I felt it was not value for money. I feel sorry for any family that paid full price. Reading other reviews, it apears there was much more on offer last year which is such a shame. However based on my experience I would not return...
