Overstone Hall — Attraction in Overstone

So, this is very much closed to the public, but used to be passable at one stage, although the building itself is unsafe.

However, the surrounding area, when it was accessible, was nice to explore and a photographer's dream.

It's a shame nothing was done to repair this once magnificent building, owned in a past life by Lady Wantage, since it was burned down.

There are still a few surprises...

Direction were good, however can only go as fast as Overstone Parish church. The gate to hall are closed. Signs stating private ground no access. It appears there may be some restoration work being carried...

Used to go to school here, breaks my heart. So much for the once beautiful Hall being restored......... Cynical me may think that was only said as a way of getting planning...
