I didn't go to the house but parked up in a small parking area on the passway where there's a few hiking/walking routes. Such a beautiful area that offers peace and quiet! We had a little picnic with my 16 month old granddaughter who loved listening to the birds and enjoyed our walk about. Definitely not wheelchair or buggy friendly but if your steady on a walking stick then I think it would be okay...no one says you have to hike to the top, just enjoy a walk as far as you can then head back. Back carriers for little ones would be ideal as well.

Very attractive, small house, arts and crafts style. there was an art exhibition on when we went with very good paintings and sculptures. the house is also used for various activities and events. see the website. we went for a short walk through a wild patch of woodland which has been sensitively managed with some dead standing timber. they have a very wide variety of birds in the wood, most of whom I didn't see :-) had coffee and cake both of which were excellent. we will definitely be going again very soon.

Really bizarre and unwelcoming experience, I was so shocked as I'd heard really good things. The house on the outside is beautiful however inside is very unkempt and musty, inside there were 4 people who worked there chatting, nobody acknowledged us so I went into the lounge to look around which the smell hit me as I walked in. I then went upto the the staff and told them I'd never been before and where do we go to look around, I was asked what I was there to see and said everything, the website stayed it's a conservation & nature reserve so where is it. We were directed to a path and told to walk thay way for a good view, it wasn't really a path and was quite dangerous. We walked back down hoping for some cake as there were tables and chairs outside, no menu, no drinks or cakes it was just so bazaar compared to the website. I'm not sure what you would be donating for as the volunteers didn't offer to talk to us or tell us the history of the place, just felt very unwelcoming so will...
