Lovely natural gardens. Those who prefer them well kept and manacured would likely be less impressed, but they are gorgeous. We went primarily for the Craft Fair and Classic Car Event as advertised on their website, but in the couple of hours we were there (11am - 1pm) there wasn't a classic car in sight and the Craft Fair consisted of only a few traders who had vastly over valued their work. The 2 stars is for the garden that bailed out a disappointing Craft Fair and the non existant Classic Car Event.

Reply to the response from the Enys Events Team:

No, I was not given a map, but it hardly matters as it's only a modest Manor House, most of which is closed to the public (and what was open to the public on this day was in a shocking state of disrepair), so one is hardly likely to lose ones bearings. I did see the crafters in their gazebo's pitched outside the house, and the stalls in the tent, and the crafters inside the house, and it was a very modest Craft Fair, and the prices were exhorbitiant. You might want to attend some craft fairs to guage the size, the quality of the goods, and the prices being asked, to gain some perspective, and in doing so hopefully be more accepting of comments that do not enthuse about those held here. The "Classic Car Event" must have been VERY well hidden as we lapped the house a couple of times during our visit, walked the gardens extensively, and saw no classic cars. Perhaps some signage directing your customers to where they were located could have been a planned consideration? Would you be so kind as to upload images of the Classic Car Event you state did indeed happen on this day, as we pretty much combed the site looking for them, and...

I visited Enys Gardens yesterday. It was absolutely stunning. The best place in the world for blue bells and to renovations are coming along nicely, it is such a beautiful place.

Unfortunately the tea room lets them down badly. I am local and have been coming to most of the events over the years, every time we come the tea room it is always disorganised, the staff are rude and soo soo slow. Yesterday was the last straw and feel I need to say something. Came to see the blue bells which once again were amazing and we all admired the way all the gardens are looking. We went for tea and No tea cakes but had scones with our tea. One our tea was cold and the scones were like rock buns very hard and dry. She tried to say they were made fresh. I beg to differ as that has to be impossible. They looked like they had been frozen.

I have to say we will never come again as it spoils the afternoon and if we do will bring our own. This has been the same for 3 years running now. Something has to be done. It is not a good advert for the beautiful estate.

It is well worth going to see the house the events bluebells and the gardens but bring your...

Being an avid gardener I love visiting local gardens and living in Cornwall I'm lucky enough to have so many to choose from. Yesterday's garden was Enys in Penryn Cornwall. If you head towards falmouth going down through Penryn you'll see a small sign for Enys so eyes open.

Plenty of parking once you get there and the prices were good too, Adults only £8 and seniors £6 kids £2 and family is only £18. Great value for money. Oh and it's Dog Friendly. Brilliant.

The gardens are lovely, it's got a rusty Cornish feel to it, plants of beautiful trees to look at, beautiful tall oaks, monkey puzzles to redwoods even a young 40ft redwood with a wisteria climbing through it. Pictures to follow. Lots of rhododendrons and dicksonias to walk though. Very small coffee shop with plenty of seating but I recommend taking your own lunches. Lots of places to sit and have a sammidge. They do do a lovely coffee cake though. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and perfectly located with a history that dates back to the...

Beautiful little gem of a place. I went with a friend and her grandchildren for the fairy trail. Well done, Enys Gardens, for providing something which is inexpensive for children, and has a little more focus than a walk in the woods. The fairy sculptures and scenes were beautiful - the children loved them, although the 8 year old boy was put off by the fact that the focus was fairies (girlie!) so we tried to persuade them there were sprites etc! There were some lovely wicker animals as part of the scenes - so more boy-friendly as far as he was concerned!! I liked how the fairy trail was specifically in the morning and the general opening was in the afternoons, so that we didn't feel in the way of the more 'serious' garden visitors!

While, not as large as the more popular destinations of Glendurgan and Trebah, and while not having the diverse range of flora, Enys Gardens are a welcome diversion and beautifully maintained. While it is more condensed in size than the alternatives, the entry fee reflects this. The gardens meander peacefully around the estate, however, they were running a Fairy and Dragon trail which allowed the young members of our party something extra to focus on. There is a cafe, which has some delectable cakes, although is limited on the coffee front to just filter (for those that may care about that sort of thing).
