Black Rock Sands Beach — Attraction in Porthmadog

You can drive onto the beach and park anywhere (within reason and within boundaries). There are toilets near the main beach entrance. At busy times there will be ice cream vans around too. The beach is so large that there is plenty of room even when busy, if you want to find your own space. The sand is firm enough for beach games, walking, and of course for driving your car. Beautiful & long beach. Good for people who prefer a firmer type of beach as well. The fact you can drive your car on/along the beach is also a bonus although I suspect come the summer it will be pretty rammed all the way down. Only downside this time of year there’s always one or two muppets come the evening who want to put their foot down for a laugh while their mates film it from the passenger seat (witnessed a few). One of the only drive on the beach locations in the UK. Take the turning opposite snowden street in porthmadog and keep driving. If your front wheels get covered in salt water you've gone too far.
