This hike/climb is deceiving, especially the route we chose. Perhaps the 'easy' routes mentioned in other reviews are simpler paths but we went from the Lidl car park (after buying something) then crossed the main road to the right and went up the path. Be careful, there are loads of places where the path forks or almost disappears further up but almost no sign posts to help save for a tiny directional about the circular path (which goes around Moel y Gest instead of up it). Loads of scrambling in the walk so good boots and poles are a must. Once at the top of the first peak you go down and back up again to reach the main highest point which again is tricky and we wouldn't advise doing this in wet weather as the rocks would be tretcherous. The beautiful pretty much 360 views make this a worthwhile walk and such a deceptive one as neither looks as long or as high from the ground. If it wasn't for the awful lack of signs and help this would be a 5* walk.

Got to the top and back down from the Haven caravan site in 2 hours. Definitely worth the hike if you're in the area and you're fit enough. The views from the top are fantastic.

It is not a high hill, simple and easy to climb. But it offers a wonderful view of the sea, and Portmadog Town. I left the car next to the Sport Direct store.

Beautiful and peaceful. Lovely walk up. Good path up and down. Some bits can be steep and tricky. Wear the right shoes. Don't forget to have a cuppa at the top for the views around....
