Nelson Pit Visitor Centre — Attraction in Poynton-with-Worth

This isn't a visitor's centre in the sense you may be used to at other places - it's incredibly small. It's an ordinary car park. It's hard to think what would make it better or worse. It seems silly that East Cheshire make a charge (albeit modest) for using it when you can usually park for free in the layby on the approach road or on the car park at the side Middlewood Way 500 yards away. A great place to park your car, and have a walk along the canal towpath at anytime of the yea. , The visitor centre wasn't open when I went due to covid 19, so I can't say if it was good or not.
