A really interesting place to visit. To learn about the hardships of mining for tin back in the day, it was truly a job that you wouldn't want.

For the kids, they can learn how to pan for little pieces of tin, and you can bag them up and take them home, for free. Fascinating and kept us busy for a while. There is a build a bear type shop, krazy golf, and for the adults, you can browse some beautiful and reasonably priced jewellery.

If you want food, I can thoroughly recommend the onsite restaurant, I had the bubble and squeak, with a latte, my other half had the "porker", again, with a latte. Good heavens, they certainly feed you very very well. My bubble and squeak came with two thick sliced rashers of bacon, and, an extremely fresh egg perched atop. And I can tell you, it was absolutely delicious and HUGE. My partner, she had the porker, oh boy, that was a shocker, it was massive. Half a huge cob loaf, lined with bacon, sausages, red onion and a fresh side salad thrown in for good measure. And I can report, from her opinion, it was utterly delicious. And, the latte's, proper coffee, great taste and very welcome on a cold day like today.

Honestly, the kitchen /waiting staff were extremely polite and approachable, nothing was too much for them, genuinely lovely people.

With no entrance fee or parking costs, it was a lovely day out, and, for the restaurant price, our lovely meal only came to £22.00 for both our meals and the coffees, absolute bargain. And, we drove a few miles down the road, and took a lovely walk along Perranporth beach after as we felt very fat after our...

The sales area is very good, great access. People in wheel chairs and on scooters should have no problems. The restaruant is clean and although the prices are top of the range I would pay for this kind of food it was good quality. The scones were a little bit like sponge cakes but quite edible. The other atractions and items were generally quite good but I would not recommend the tin plant to people in wheel chairs or scooters.

We went looking for a ring for my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary (39 years) but we thought they were quite expensive. We saw similar rings later in the day that were not as expensive. In all fairness the quality appears to be very good and we may yet return to purchase one of the rings we looked at.

At one time there was a seperate place called Cornwall (or posibly Cornish) Pearl. This seems to have been combined with Cornwall gold at this site but in it's own building. It is a lot smaller than I remember but it is still interesting and children can discover how pearls are formed. There is plenty of free parking and the Teddy bear factory and the pottery painting are sure to be a hit, take Grandma back a purple dragon, it is just what she always wanted!

Now I have to tell you, In the end we did return to Cornwall gold and purchased a beautiful ring, a laticework of fine gold in a celtic kind of pattern, we also bought the earings and the necklace that went with it. In all honesty the quality was better than anything else we saw whilst we were in Cornwall and I did not mind paying a little more for that on this...

I am not sure I have ever been more disappointed by a customer service, or lack of, experience! My parents bought be a bracelet from Cornwall Gold for a special birthday. I wore it a few times but decided to stop wearing it as the clasp was rather flimsy and it kept opening with the very real risk that I would lose the bracelet - this was not a cheap item of jewelry and also a special gift so losing it would have been awful! Four emails to Cornwall Gold regarding this went completely unanswered - so rude! A telephone call to customer service resulted in me taking it back to CG - a 3 and a half hour drive. The lady who served me could not have been less interested if she had tried. No apology, no discussion - took it to the workshop. Returned with the bracelet, put it down on the counter and did not speak! I asked what the decision was and she told me it had been fixed and I should really have done it myself!! I suggested the clasp was not sufficient for the bracelet and she totally dismissed that suggestion and said there was nothing further they could do. I decided not to argue - I really didn't want to deal with this company any further. I will take it to a local jeweler to have a better clasp put on it. Its not about the money but this bracelet cost not much less...

We came for the historical information and mill, and enjoyed spending 45-60 minutes perusing it. We also took a quick look at the jewelry store, cafe, bear works, and panning for gold - a nice mix of adult and kid activities. The historical information is really well done within the main centre and separate mill. It covers why the mill was here, showed machinery for how it operated, and told of how people lived whilst working there. Occasionally the sign lettering is a little small but the information included is really well done. The mill is also quite interesting to meander through as able to see the machines, as well as details about the 1919 Levant Mine disaster, like what happened and why it occurred. It takes around 15-30 minutes in both the interior and in the mill, depending on how quickly read. Pantry cafe had a significant amount of seating and decent looking drink and food options. Car park is huge - I assume it cost get quite full during busy periods. Toilets were quite nice and clean.

Something for everyone. We have been here 3 times now, usually go when the weather isn't the best (a none beach day) in the last 3 years we've been to Cornwall. We usually head to the Pantry and order the full English served on a Shovel. It's a novelty, but we love it. I'm sure we get looks from other customers, but a minute in, they wished they did the same. The service has been fantastic each time and always safe and clean. The food is great quality and plenty on the shovel (or plate, choice is yours). The menu has plenty of choice in food and drink. Pretty sure they would cater for most needs. The Jewelry is stunning to look at, we've bought a few bits and had a piece altered at a very low cost. Again, all the staff are brilliant. Outside there's interesting things to see and do. A few bits have been closed, but this year the museum was open and we had a look around. It's fascinating seeing how things were done. Really worth a quick visit.

Called into the jewellery store after walking the trail. I enquired about having some pearls put onto my sleeper/ hoops. The lady that served me (so sorry I didn’t get her name) was so helpful. She priced up how much it would cost to have a couple of pearls wired to fit and also suggested taking a couple of pearls off a necklace and putting them on to my sleeper/hoop earring's which worked out a lot cheaper than having them made bespoke. She kindly offered to take the pearls off the necklace that I had chosen and placed them onto my original earrings. So I now have a more dressy pair of sleepers and a lovely necklace which was also cheaper than buying new earrings alone. This lady went above and beyond. Can’t thank her enough. She made my day. Also they have lots of beautiful jewellery that caters for all budgets. Definitely worth a visit.
