Very beautiful place to visit. If you check their website they have different open days and events open to the public. It is part of two schools and was signposted so easy to find and there was a parking attendant who directed you to the closest parking. The hall itself is very pretty, and when you turn the corner to the garden, the view of the lake is wonderful! To walk the whole way around it takes about an hour (longer at a leisurely pace) There were toilets onsite attached to the cafe, (closed for lockdown but takeaway available) the selection was obviously a little limited due to Covid, but you can get a cuppa and a piece of cake and sit on the lawn overlooking the lake. There is also a small play area for children marked on the map. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We had a lovely afternoon exploring the gardens in Gatton Park on its monthly open day. Parking was easy with volunteers directing us to the right place. We followed the map around the lake and then back up to the house for tea and cake. As it was harvest time we were able to try freshly pressed apple juice too. I really liked the Japanese garden

Beautiful grounds open 1st Sunday of most months. Main feature is the lake which is a easy stroll and lots of wildlife to be seen, several small gardens also including a Japanese garden. Easy parking and great price as children are free, 1hr walk around the lake approximately. Toilets on site and cafe with moorish Carrot cake.

No reflection on the place itself, looks fairly nice BUT

The country fair today was far far too busy (too many tickets sold) 8 pounds each to queue up for everything, so didn't do anything! No attractions for the ten pound entrance fee, just dog show and birds, only stalls selling overpriced food and toys etc. Hour for bouncy castle, hour for horse ride, 25 minutes at least for a drink, the reptile people wanted 3 pounds to touch a snake!!! Could not move in the place, literally could not move. Never been before never will return. I normally would not bother writing a review but felt the need as I've never seen anything like it, there was a tailback of about half an hour to get into the carpark from the main road with drivers becoming furious and speeding past the traffic which nearly made a head on collision with a car behind me at about 50 mph!! Just total carnage, avoid if you hate the things...

A very beautiful setting, which is slightly magical, only because & considering, that you practically; make the crossover from the town realm, into a different world packed with nature, serenity & silence. The Chinese gardens, beautiful lake; and wide open lush greeny openness, with all the wonderey; & excellentness of a palethera, of animals and insects etc you really do lose the consideration; and forget that only moments ago, there was bare noise, cars, traffic loudness, screaming adults, nonsense chattering little baby humans; and the annoyance of high pitched mopeds, constantly buzzing around and giving you a headache etc it's just crazy close yet so far away?¿? Highly recommend if trying to get away from the relentlessly drone of the human garbled racket; & sounding like turkeys...
