We had never stayed in a pod before and had never visited the farm so we went ahead and booked a 1 night stay to try it. It was far better that when I had ever imagined it. There is 5 pods all spaced out to give you enough privacy. Located next to the car park. The are lovely. Warm enough inside at night. Sleep up to 4 people. The 4 of us were fine with 2 double air beds and enough room at the end of the beds for our back packs/clothing. All have electricity. X2 Shower rooms. Exceptially clean and tidy. They too are lovely and warm. There is x2 washing up sinks to the side of the shower rooms and a fresh water tap. There is a small kids park on site which my son and nephew played in for hours. All sealed off so they are safe to just run and play in that whole area. All well maintained. You get a BBQ for each pod which turns to fire pit in the evening. This was just perfect for us and we got full use from cooking our food and keeping warm in the evenings. One of the guests on site had wood delivered to her so I'm guessing nothing is to much trouble for the staff here and that they will assist with whatever they can. Reception maybe closed during cleaning times but there are mobile numbers on thr door that you can ring. I did have to ring a number which was answered quickly and all my questions answered (receptionist nipped out to clean the pods). If you need staff in person they will be with you without delay. We went to the farm for the day. The tickets were included in the booking which I think just gives it that extra something that makes me think I want to go back. I cant stress enough how clean this place is. It's spotless and it really does show how much pride the owners and staff have in this buissness. It's beautiful. There are plenty of animals to be seen which are also well cared for. They have specious enclosures and they too are extreamly clean and maintained to a high standards. This is 100% the cleanest farm I have ever been too with animals that are also tidy and healthy. You can go inside the goat enclosure which was the highlight of our day. I had hugs with brand new baby goats and a battle with a fully groan goat trying to get my bag of feed back!. We loved it. We had a tractor ride which I think was £2 each amd the children had a ride in little carts pulled by a tractor (they loved it). Easter is the best time to visit farms in my opinion. We watch mama goose greeting her hatching eggs which was amazing to see happen naturally and not from incubators in schools(we caught sight of this happening as we looked down the stream situated outside of the toilet area). There is a barn with activity for the children, basketball hoops, bean bag throwing, messy kitchen areas, ride on cars & tractors.& also a small play area. There was a room for with colouring pictures set out on tables (perfect if it's raining). We got to hold a baby chicken in that room too. The cafe is clean and tidy with a small range of hot and cold foods all reasonable prices. Nice selection of ice cream. The staff in the cafe were lovely and so friendly I really enjoyed chatting with them. All the staff here were happy & chatty and that definitely didn't go unnoticed. Wash sinks for you to wash your hands are easily assessment around the park. There is a fantastic, fun sized playing park for the kids on site. Smoking is in designated areas which I think is brilliant. You won't find a cigarette butt or EVapes laying around the grounds here. I didn't spot any litter at all. Area: I drive 45mintes from my home to the park yet once there I felt further away from home than what I actually was. The views are incredible, it's quiet & peaceful and there are some lovely walk ways to stroll down. We just didn't have enough time to explore the walking routes. Overall I give this place a solid 10/10. First visit but not the last. I would reccomend this park to people with mobility issues, SEN children, families, couples and those wanting a quiet get away. I wouldn't reccomend this place for large adult parties. Thank-you...

This is an awesome and tremendous wildlife park situated in a breathtakingly Picturesque remote location within the Forest of Bowland. This place has a variety of fun, engaging and exciting things to do and see which include a variety of animals to see, park rides, wildlife walks and holiday accommodations. The range of animals to see is very extensive, diverse and amazing and the animals you can see are Meerkats, Wild Boar, Red Deer, Sheep, Pigs, Cattle, Ostriches, Rheas, Duck & Geese. All of the animals are very friendly and interactive and probably one of the most friendly and inquisitive of animals at any wildlife park in the UK. The animals are very well looked and their welfare is very well maintained with nice wide spacious enclosures. There are bags of animal feed that you can purchae from the reception desk and feeding the animals is a great fun interactive thing to do as the animals love the sight of food and being fed. The wildlife walks offer a very pleasant relaxing walk from the main area of the wildlife park and on the walks you can enjoy beautifully picturesque views of the River Hodder which runs to the side of the wildlife park and makes for a very pleasant setting. On the wildlife walks you can see and catch a great glimpse of the Wild Boar. The wildlife also gives you the chance to see some interesting sculptures aswell. There are some activities/rides for the children to do such as The Tractor and Trailer Rides, Barrel Rides and Tank Driving Experience which offer a nice lovely relaxing tour of the park for the children. The Barrel Rides cost £3 each for children and The Tractor Rides are £2 per person and The Tank Driving Experience costs £5 and these are charges are on top of the admission fee but are well worth it as the children love it. The rides are subject to weather conditions. The place also offers holiday accomodation such as lodges, pods and camping. The other great thing about the place is the fact that all energy the place generates to power electricity and water is from sustainable green renewable sources showing it cares and receptiveness to the environment. There is a cafe selling a variety of food and drink at reasonable prices. There is also a small gift shop selling a nice range of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall this is an absolutely fantastic and magnificent place to visit making for a very fun, engaging and interactive for families especially children. Definitely well worth a visit whilst in the Forest of...

Liked: We loved Bowland Wild Boar Park !! First time camping with my little nephew who is 5 years old. We set up camp in our tents which was surprisingly quiet as there was only our 2 tents and 1 other with a little family.

We rented a fire pit to toast some marshmallows and have that camp fire burning each night (£10 deposit is given back once returned) the little reception/ shop has all the camping things you need even skewers and marshmallows to buy (which we forgot to bring)

The Park has lots of little walks to keep your little ones entertained, magical forest walks to stop wildlife, little adventure trails which are hidden to the left of the camp pitch. We enjoyed the walks which were peaceful, and lots of little things to look for. There is a little park by the rented pods to play on and a gaol post which my nephew loved. (we weren't sure we could go into the area as we were camping but its for all clampers/campers which is nice)

The Wild Boar Park was really great, we enjoyed the little activities and tractor rides (£2 each for a token) We loved to see all the different animals around the park. lots to do, a big park outside and an undercover play area at the farm section. We absolutely loved the educational centre were you can hold some of the amphibians such as corn snake, giant African snails, millipede and also little chick that had just hatched the day before. the staff were amazing with my little nephew, patients and reassured him when he wasn't very sure. We eventually got him comfortable enough to hold all and he loved every second on if, could stop talking about all the animals.

Thank you so much to all the staff who went out of there way to make conversation, direct us and help which anything if needed. The lady also stopped for a chat with us and later remembered my nephews name when we went back to claim our pebble prize.

Overall a wonderful experience and a great place to visit for a day out!

Disliked: The camping toilets, the glampers have a nicer deal with nicer toilets I would mind paying a deposit for a key when camping. Maybe eventually make a communal toilet shower area with cleaning facilities for washing plates/ pots for campers.

No drying room as our boots got soaked

No charging points...

A great day out for children of every age. You have to queue in a line of cars to get in and pre-booking doesn’t help as you still have to queue in the same line as pay-on-the-day customers. But once in, parking is easy, the whole site well set out, the staff are smiley and happy, there are lots of animal enclosures including one for wild boar. Don’t be misled by the name of the place -it’s more a zoo of petting animals, though there are wild boar, of course. There are llamas, alpacas, goats, varieties of pigs, chickens, owls, Guinea fowl, and much more. Inside, my grandchildren got to nurse a new born chick, and see axolotl, giant spiders, tortoises, a snake, and again much more. We wandered through one enclosure to feed goats and kids, which was a lovely thing to do. There are pleasant circular walks accessible with a pushchair or a wheel chair though a little bumpy in places, and possibly very muddy when wet. At reasonable extra cost there is a ride in trailer towed by a tractor or a ‘barrel train’ also towed by a tractor. Book these when you get on site as they get booked up fast. There’s a great play area for kids, lots of picnic tables, an indoor area with some ride on toy tractors and a climbing frame. One downside was the cafe - an incredibly time wasting queuing system with the menus not shown till you’ve passed the food until you checkout so you don’t know what’s available till you have to pay, so people naturally dither, re-order and this time wastes. Plus the food was overly expensive for what you end up with. £5 for a mushed baked potato in a cardboard carton, £3.95 for a very small carton of soup and a small roll. The children’s meal boxes are, however, good value. I’d even recommend getting these for adults instead of the adult food. Queuing to get in, and cafe problems aside, I’d thoroughly recommend this place as a great day out for young families, especially when the weather is good.

Staff friendly especially the barrel ride driver..who let children sit in tractor. Very clean outside. Cafe is terrible avoid at all costs. Had a lamb burger. Bread roll was defrosted in microwave and all soggy on the bottom. For some reason the lamb burger had cheese on. Think the burger had gone back in the microwave to melt the cheese. I have taken 2 stars off my review for the food. Oven chips drier than the Sahara. There was animal feed on the floor of the cafe and a toddler was also sick on the cafe floor. I know there is a rare breeds burger bar but it was shut on the day we were there. The 2 main activities barrel and tractor rides you have to pay extra for. Don't sit at the front on the tractor ride unless you want to taste diesel for 24 hours. Entry gets you into the mini zoo to handle a few animals and the adventure playground. The llamas seemed cool. We didn't actually use all our animal feed as there weren't enough animals to feed. There is a sculpture walk but didn't make it there except on the tractor. Whoever owns the park needs to get their hand in the pocket and build a proper kitchen and pay some adults to staff it. If they sort out the food they can even offer seasonal membership. P.s. may be it's time to fix the solar panel supported by a rope P.p.s very good ice cream server. Thank you. Almost made up for the cafe.

Really cool find. This was part of my birthday holiday surprise because I love animals. Such a cool idea of bringing your dog a well. We couldn't really leave him anywhere either. They have doggy ice cream which is a bonus! I'd say you're never too old to visit a zoo or petting farm. It's still nice to see animals, feed them and pet them. At the time of visiting there were baby goats, a calf and baby chick's/ducklings. Lots of places to sit and eat lunch. There's stuff kids can interact with and play. I'm a bit too old so we just looked round and fed the animals that could be fed. It was very clear which animals you could feed and couldn't with the paper you get when you enter. The information panels on each enclosure were quite good, not too much info to overwhelm you but not too little. Personally I hate big blocks of writing. Our puppy did get very excited and fustrated at times because he couldnt say hi to the animals but we tried our best to handle him. Overall he did quite well. Some training could be done as there was plenty of space to walk back and let him settle down. It wasnt and didnt feel cramped at all. Staff were really friendly and helpful. No one seemed to mind our puppy, including the animals. Maybe because kids are very loud and crazy sometimes.
