Absolutely love this place. Never seems to be busy but it's a real gem. Fantastic for wildlife, birds, mammals, insects and even amphibians. Plenty of paths to explore and a nice mix of habitats, from open meadow areas to woodland to small lakes. Good to visit any time of yeah, but especially in spring and early summer when the place bursts into life. Great for anyone interested in wildlife, especially children as you're pretty much guaranteed to see something interesting. Wear appropriate footwear as it can get muddy, but it's well worth getting a bit dirty. Car park isn't always open but it is free and there's lay-bys on the road...
