This is a really lovely place but just seems really expensive for what it is. You have to pay almost as much as an adult (£7) for over 1s which seems a lot.
Then there's not a huge amount there - a lovely walk around the farm animals and a small wooden play area which is ideal for 4+ but inaccessible for my 2 year old who cost the same. It was very very muddy when I went in January which can't be helped but perhaps some seasonal rates would be wise. There are 2 small sheds - one with animals that are usually outside so that outside area was closed off instead and one with rabbits, birds, guineas and meerkats to look at.
We then went to the cafe - I feel the cafe was reasonably priced for what you get as the food was lovely and they do a chai latte which you can't get everywhere! However, we had to pay a further £4 per child for them to play in the small soft play. This seems ridiculous after you've just spent £25 for an hour's worth of farm and then £40+ for 4 of us to eat. It's very small. You pay about the same for wacky warehouse and it's about 4x as big. If you pay for entry to the farm, this really should be free, especially if you're spending on food etc too. Maybe a minimum spend in the cafe could result in free play? Also, service was very slow and it wasn't busy so I'd like to think they would have a few more hands on deck at busier times.
If you're not bothered about the chai latte and just want a coffee, I'd go to wacky warehouse. If you want a day's worth of farm with activities, things to see etc then I'd go to cannon hall - it's not much more but you get far more for your money.
There's also very little on the website to plan your visit. If I'd seen the map below and realised how little I was getting for my money beforehand, I wouldn't have gone.
I'd recommend this place should be £5 for adults, £3 for over 2s, free entry to the soft play with minimum spend in cafe and maybe include some activities in the farm or upgrade the outdoor play equipment. I'd definitely go again then and recommend to others but can't...
Read moreFirstly the signs to for the entrance to the farm car park are only small and its on a very busy dangerous part of the main road so please be very careful when trying to enter and leave the farm, secondly the car parking is a little haphazard and consist of a main car park and. Second over spill with plenty of room but also the main entrance is is Used to park cars and when walking with children this can be a hazard as we found has there is also large hgv vehicles delivering goods to the farm which is still under construction in places. We also found that although the farm states that the areas you can walk and feed animals are indeed extremely steep and not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies and you will struggle if taking very children In prams. Although this seems to be. Working process it is enjoyable but could be better if the animal husbandry was thought out better. The toilet facilities where very clean and well thought out, the staff where friendly and helpful, the restaurant is only small but clean and the food was fresh but I wouldn't have given it 10 put 10, avoid the chunky chips which where very greasy and floppy not nice at all, the salads were nice and service was really nice staff...
Read moreThis is an amazing farm! I had a VIP tour with the kind and funny Bronte, who told us facts about the animals and made the experience better. We got to feed, pet and hold a rabbit and a guinea pig, pet a tortoise, pet and hold a skink and a bearded dragon, feed the meerkats in the enclosure, go in with the kids (baby goats) and let them climb on us, feed and pet the alpacas in their enclosure, collect eggs from the chicken coops (you can keep 6!), pet the turkey and chickens in their enclosure and feed the pigs bread! It was quite muddy and wet, but only because of recent weather. Also the farm itself without any experiences is very good. They also have rhea, sheep, peacocks, deer and budgies. The animals look very well cared for and when they were taken out of their enclosures they do not try to escape, meaning they have a happy life. On top of all of this, they have fishing ponds with geese. You can fish in them or just watch the geese. They have fairly clean toilets and a café that has a soft play area for children. Also, they have a dinosaur trail to entertain younger visitors. There are some shops in the farm so you can buy some things from there. I really...
