Codger fort is a striking landmark on the top of one of the tallest hills in the area. Whilst some say it may have been built for defensive reasons we think it is a pretty clear folly, built to impress. Views are limited from the road and there is no indication that visitors on foot are welcome. Unless you are really interested in history it is worth just admiring from the road.

Stumbled across it driving back from fontburn reservoir pulled over at a tiny pull in just past it had to climb over fence as I believe it's private land stunning views from the top . History seems a bit questionable but still cool non the less

This is a stone built Folly on the Rothbury road. A quiet gem with great views. You are better turning round past the Fort, so approaching heading South and park beside some gates. This avoids pulling out and crossing the road on a blind crest.

Great wee folly standing proudly on crags above Rothley lakes. Best to park in the parking area on the crossroads just to the south of the fort and walk back along the roadside. From there it's over a fence and through livestock fields to the fort. Brilliant views...
