The Kersal Wetlands in Manchester are a hidden gem that offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As one of the largest urban wetland projects in the UK, Kersal Wetlands provide a unique blend of natural beauty and biodiversity that is truly captivating.

Visitors are greeted by a lush landscape teeming with wildlife, including a variety of birds, insects, and plant species. The well-maintained pathways and viewing platforms allow for easy exploration and excellent opportunities for bird watching and photography. The wetlands' design thoughtfully incorporates flood prevention measures, showcasing how urban planning can harmonize with nature.

What makes Kersal Wetlands particularly special is its accessibility. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a family outing, or a quiet moment of reflection. The educational signage throughout the wetlands offers insightful information about the local ecosystem and conservation efforts, making it a valuable resource for both adults and children.

Overall, Kersal Wetlands are a testament to Manchester's commitment to green spaces and environmental sustainability. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, the Kersal Wetlands are a must-visit destination that...

i visited this place 2 years ago in the far off year of 2004, and it was such a good experience. i originally went here for a walk, maybe a run near the river to see the benches, flowers, wildlife, and that one dog at the picnic. i actually ended up meeting the kersal massive here, the most famous group from kersal. c-mac was so cool along with little kev and ginger joe. they sang the kersal mandem for everyone at the park, a real gem of a song and it improved the kersal wetlands...

My wife and I were one of the first to start walking around the wetlands following its redevelopment. It is a really good spot for walking and cycling and you can almost forget you are in the city. Now it has been open sometime it is getting a lot busier and this will only increase as the nearby housing estate completes. Only thing letting it down is there isn't much in the way of amenities such as benches or any...

A Perfect 40-Minute Stroll , Scenic, Relaxing, and Pram-Friendly This trail is an absolute gem for a short, peaceful walk. It takes around 40 minutes at a relaxed pace and is fully pram-friendly, making it ideal for families or anyone wanting an easy, accessible stroll. You'll enjoy wide open skies, expansive green spaces, and constant views of water. A few benches to sit tho.

Plenty of paths to take, however depending on the weather you might need to hop around mud / puddles if you're not in wellies. Some slopes are a bit too steep for wellies. Balsm on the ground makes amazing sounds but there's a lot of hogweed mixed in which is a straight trip to A&E, don't let kids touch. Plenty of gorgeous bugs in summer, dragonflies!

As a lad from Cumbria, I find this small pocked of countryside a taste of home within inner city Salford. It is a vibrant and diverse environment with a variety of flora and fauna, including meadow flowers. There are many winding foodpaths, definitely a must visit for both locals and visitors to the area! Also wonderful for foraging!
