Absolutely great family day out! Lots of things to do for everyone. Having some change is ideal but not essential as you can buy tickets for the rides upon arrival or you can go back once everyone has decided what they want to go on and pay by card at the reception. There's some great animals handling sessions which my boys loved. There is a fabulous park and a barn for eating picnics or bought food as well as a lot of outdoor eating spaces. I would say they have really considered accessibility with wheelchair users very much considered. One of our party was a wheelchair user and there's was only the tube slide which he couldn't access. We were led to believe this is still in testing but our physically disabled guest could not go on unaccompanied as he would need adult support to use the ride but this was denied. I would say staffing needs to be more in control of their rides in particular the tube slide as kids were just queue jumping leaving little ones to stand and wait while bigger kids pushed through. I would say the sledge run also needs to be supervised for exactly the same thing. I would advise parents stay with their children until they access the ride to ensure no pushing in. Overall our day was great, only minor issues but no one was bored even adults were well entertained. Keep an eye out for the llamas/alpacas as they were in the romancing mood the day of our visit and we had some interesting...

Update June 2018

This remains a nice place to visit but with one reservation, which is concern about their food hygiene standards. Last time we visited their were wild birds flying around the tables in the soft play barn, landing on tables and poohing on the floor. The only thing they did was to have the sole member of staff going around with a bucket and scrubbing brush cleaning the pooh up. Given that small kids run around the area and that they serve food, this is disgusting and could cause illness. Have removed a star as a result. Great shame.

Visited today for my 4 year old son's birthday as he's very much into tractors and animals at the moment. Have visited many times before as well.

It's reasonably priced by farm standards, about Β£7 each, although there are family tickets available.

In terms of facilities there are obviously lots of animals including cows, pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas and probably more.

There is also a play barn with soft play and ride on tractors and an outdoor playground and a bouncy pillow.

Included in the entry is the tractor ride as well and there's a water warfare game which involves firing water bombs at each other which is good fun if not wet.

Finally there is also a puppet show and chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs to hold.

The cafe is reasonable as well, about Β£1.80 for a coffee and Β£3 for a sausage sandwich.

Overall it's a good...

Me ans my family booked to visit here as it was close to where we were staying for the weekend.

On first look everything was good, the woman was friendly that got us in and we went to the place where they had little chick's to pet and feed.

I spent 2 minutes in here as the young girl who worked there made me really angry.

She was grabbing the little chick's and just putting them in baskets like they were toy animals, one of them was clearly distressed and not moving and she grabbed it and hoyed it in a basket and gave it to someone.

When she was receiving them back she was just throwing them back in the pen, I had to leave before I said something.

Other than that the overall experience was OK, I haven't been to many petting places for animals like this for a while so maybe that's just normal.

But they have a decent amount of animals and the kids seemed to enjoy it apart from the smell.

I won't be going back here, its a 1 lane road to get in and the animals just seem like they aren't cared for properly more stressful than enjoyable.

The 3 stars are for the parking, the friendly receptionist and the variety of animals and that's it. The little angry girl that was rough with the baby chick's really spoiled the mood for the rest...

Such a lovely family day out at Hall Hill Farm in Lanchester, Durham! 🐐🚜 There’s so much to do – perfect for kids of all ages. You could honestly spend the whole day here! From feeding the animals, tractor rides, and go-karts, to the big outdoor slides, trampolines, and a great play park – the fun never stops! We also loved the indoor play area – perfect for warming up when it got a bit chilly with a nice cappuccino. β˜•οΈπŸ§€πŸ’¨ Highly recommend for a fun, active, and animal-filled day out with the little ones! πŸ’› #familydayout #durhamdaysout #hallhillfarm #familyfun #farmfun @HallHillFarm
