The initial part of the walk is uphill, but once you reach the top of the cliffs, the path levels out and becomes mostly flat. The Seaton cliffs are well known for their red sandstone formations. On a sunny day the cliffs take on a gorgeous dark red hue which when contrasted with the grassy tops can make for truly beautiful photographs.
There is a well signposted path that leads along the top of the cliff edge. It is worth sticking to the new sections of the path that branch off from the old because of erosion of the cliffs make the old path dangerous.

Some days we have found it to be quite misty, while visiting in December we caught rain and high winds - it was very cold and not very pleasant so timing is key.
