We had a great stay at this historic castle. It was situated in the country, very cute and Tobias, the owner took great care of us. He gave us a tour of the castle. Explain some of the history we served our breakfast in the room. It was a very special stay and we will always remember.

A B&B GEM!

It was an inspired choice, when we opted to book our castle stay. First impressions are that you are made to feel very welcome. Our room was larger than we had anticipated, super clean, with an oversized shower and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was top class, with locally sourced produce, and served in a marvellous first floor room in the castle itself.

Do not miss the opportunity to dine in the castle if you are invited to do so! This could be the highlight of your stay..The food, served by our host Tobias, was beyond excellent. Do try a dish that you've not had previously. There is also a good choice of wines at reasonable prices. I am a food snob and I loved it. My wife is not a food snob and she loved it even more!

What comes across is that your hosts are not just restoring the castle; for them it is a labour of love, and you get to benefit.

So tens all round and an experience that you...

Faultless two night stay in the Munches Room. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, welcome sherry, soft mattress, superb shower. Castle grounds and resident peacock charming. Tobias was a perfect host, gracious in his preparation and serving of breakfast in the castle dining room, was too cold to eat in the Great Hall. Owner, and Baron, James, was an equally friendly, delightful, informative and welcoming host. We were fortunate to meet, and spend time with a fellow guest, a Polish priest currently living in Edinburgh. We leave with many memories to treasure. Thank you...

We absolutely loved our stay in The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle. The level of attention to detail the owners have put into decorating each room, designing the garden, and restoring the castle is incredible and makes the experience all the more special. It was so nice to learn from James about the history of the land and their ancestors.

There is plenty of parking, it's near some lovely towns with great restaurants and there appears to be a resident peacock. He was beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and the presentation was delightful. We would stay again in...
