Alas, this would have been a full 5 star review, but it has been 'made a place of' (which is the only way I can describe it) ..... it used to be a place you went, and because it was the "Fairy Glen" you were hoping for some kind of mystical, magical experience ... but the council .... in their infinite wisdom.... have now made it 'nicer' and put in passing places and car parking areas and constructed paths and trails for you to follow .... kind of obliterating the charm of the place though .... now you can hope that you don't get a parking ticket ..... oh yes I forgot to mention the new meters that have been installed, just to keep you aware of how long your mystical magical will take .... ah well .... another tourist attraction made sooo popular it seems its made itself commercialised for the masses. Read moreIt looks like a fairy tale place, but the road to get there is extremely narrow, not enough pacing spots, too many cars, very small parking place. Driving was stressful. If you are not comfortable driving on narrow roads - dont drive there. We got there in a heavy rain, was very wet and muddy. Read moreOne of the most breathtaking places you can imagine. A short drive off the main road and a nice parking location very close to the glen. A short hike, 30 seconds, and you're into one of the most beautiful places on earth. Morning time is best, dont trust me, ask the locals. Little hills to climb, with naturally formed ledges which reveal a lovely view of the countryside as far as the eye can see.
There is livestock on the property so respect them and respect the land. Leave stones...
