Alas, this would have been a full 5 star review, but it has been 'made a place of' (which is the only way I can describe it) ..... it used to be a place you went, and because it was the "Fairy Glen" you were hoping for some kind of mystical, magical experience ... but the council .... in their infinite wisdom.... have now made it 'nicer' and put in passing places and car parking areas and constructed paths and trails for you to follow .... kind of obliterating the charm of the place though .... now you can hope that you don't get a parking ticket ..... oh yes I forgot to mention the new meters that have been installed, just to keep you aware of how long your mystical magical will take .... ah well .... another tourist attraction made sooo popular it seems its made itself commercialised for the masses. But if you are still going, try not to make it any worse than it is .... I'm thinking of Mount Snowden and the mess that has been...

It looks like a fairy tale place, but the road to get there is extremely narrow, not enough pacing spots, too many cars, very small parking place. Driving was stressful. If you are not comfortable driving on narrow roads - dont drive there. We got there in a heavy rain, was very wet and muddy. I didn't make it to the top, I didn't have proper shoes and not enough time - there should be a view on the castle I understand, unfortunately we had to go. I wish to come back there one day. This place is...

One of the most breathtaking places you can imagine. A short drive off the main road and a nice parking location very close to the glen. A short hike, 30 seconds, and you're into one of the most beautiful places on earth. Morning time is best, dont trust me, ask the locals. Little hills to climb, with naturally formed ledges which reveal a lovely view of the countryside as far as the eye can see.

There is livestock on the property so respect them and respect the land. Leave stones...

Like all the other places around Isle of Skye, this is also a must if you are traveling around the area. I was told it was just a short viewpoint, but actually there is a nice walk around the place. You can go up a few of the hills, and the rock. We really enjoyed the views, it looked magical from the beginning until the end. It would be quite dangerous to go up on rainy days, just because of the muddy bits and the top being so narrow.

An easy hike from the car park. Lots of cool little hills along the way. It's not a real castle but it does kinda look like it could have been one from a distance. If you're brave enough to climb to the top (I wasn't) you'd be treated to beautiful vistas all around, waterfalls, fields mountains galore. I acually came here for the Fairy Glen which was really cute, but stayed on top of the hill next to it for lunch.
