An excellent resource, very close to Glasgow. Caithkin Braes MTB trails are a brilliant place to learn or develop moutain bike skills. The trails are feature packed, well constructed and well maintained. There are skills areas for rock gardens, drop offs, jumps and switch backs very close to the car park so you can get the basics weighed off before you hit the trails. There is also a truly world class pump track with an incredible riding surface. I only have two criticisms, the first is that due to the geography of the area the trails are short, this is great if you are learning as you can bomb down the trails, get back to the top and bomb down again trying things slightly differently each time you hit a certain feature. However if you already have decent skills and are looking to have some fun, these trails are over just as you settle into a rhythm. The other slightly worrying thing is the trail surface. While the trails are well made and maintained, about 80% of them are surfaced with a fine gravel. This is a very unforgiving surface, if you choose the wrong line on this stuff, expect a two wheel slide! Overall though this is an excellent place to develop MTB skills, close to the city and with...
Read moreIt's a really good place to go for people of all abilities. The pump track is great fun and is a great way to progress. The trails are good fun aswell with the blue route fun for everyone with no difficult features. The jump trail is a great way to practice jumping or even learning to jump as all of the jumps are table-tops. As long as you miss out the 2 step-ups going in to 2 of the turns it's a great place to learn without having to worry about clearing the gaps. Overall a great place to come to have...

Only fell once on the double dare trail, which 2as great anyway. I would recommend it to anyone who is a beginner or an experienced mountain biker. The pump track is in excellent quality, scooters ride on it often but they don't get in your way....
