A place I have so many fond memories of, spent thousands of hours playing here as a kid and then working and fishing at this busy reservoir as a teenager. It used to be bustling but is now very neglected as the City Council no longer have the funding to staff or use it to its potential. The only thing still maintained is the kids playpark - everything else is left to ruin. Broken palletes, logs and rubbish in the water, poorly maintained stone banks, ranger centre long ago closed, birdlife and waterfowl are even noticeably diminished. It's a place where locals will always walk the dog or go for a run but if you are from further afield you would be better off going to Camperdown Park which is only a mile...
Read moreIt was cold today, bit the sun was out and little wind. A walk around Clatto is a good way to get out of the house and enjoy the air. I go as often as I can, then try and spot the terrapin or the for the swans. It's a big circle walk taking about an hour.
