Great day out with the kids - I took them on a Monday during the school holidays (I expect it was less busy than at the weekend). Plenty of free stuff to do - play park, trampolines, trim trail, fairy garden, wishing well, flying fox, various garden areas to explore and there are plenty of open grass areas to play. The paid attractions are great too - miniature train ride, tractor ride, bouncy castles, crazy golf and putting course - I bought 11 tickets for the price of 10 (costing £17) and that got myself and 2 kids on all the attractions once. We did most of these in the morning and didn't have to queue or wait. We did the tractor ride late afternoon and waited maybe 20 minutes to get on. There are usually boats you can take onto the pond but at the time of writing they weren't running as it's not possible to operate them and maintain social distancing. The cafe was operating a limited take away service due to the covid situation - we queued for 20-30 minutes to get some ice cream but it was worth the wait, the ice cream was amazing (and reasonably priced at about £2 for a single cone) - I'm sure the wait won't be anywhere near as long once things are fully back to normal. There were plenty of places to eat a packed lunch (picnic benches/grass areas) - we ate at a picnic bench next to the bouncy castle area. Also plenty of places to take shelter during any showers (they've even built a small hut near the play park to shelter in when it rains)! Toilets located behind the cafe and smaller toilets near the trim trail - we didn't have to queue. Parking is also free which...

The park's beautifully landscaped gardens are a testament to its serene ambiance. Visitors can explore lush lawns, well-maintained flower beds, and tranquil ponds. It's a picturesque setting for picnics or leisurely strolls.

One of Craigtoun's standout features is its adventure playground, which caters to children of all ages. The expansive play area is equipped with swings, slides, and even a zip line, ensuring kids have endless opportunities for outdoor fun. The park also offers rowing boats on the charming boating lake, allowing families to engage in a bit of gentle exercise.

Large park and very picturesque and well tended. Lots of fun things for children to do such as trampolining, pedal boat rides, tractor driven train rides, play park, maze. Lots of beautiful gardens with an array of trees and flowers. Limited vegan options and I hope they will realise perhaps stocking some vegan dairy free ice creams options (Ben and Jerry's do a vegan range btw!) instead of offering sorbet would be a nice touch. There was Swedish Glace ice cream cones for £2 which I was very pleased to see because as a vegan we see sorbet far enough when we actually want ice cream! So big thumbs up for stocking that little delight! I would definately come back. It is dog friendly but our beautiful pooches must be kept on a lead because of tractors and train rides regularly passing through - which is completely fair and right in this instance. Plenty tables for eating lunch outside whether you pack a lunch or buy from the park, to enjoy your grub in the sunshine and decent toilet facilities that are regularly tended. Recommended highly for families. The children we seen seemed to be having a great time but it's just as, if not more enjoyable for those of us who prefer canine companions to relax in these...

The car park a good size but if it really busy there is a overflow parking area. There is car parking Marshall's on busy days as well to help guide you. There lots of outdoor equipment for kids/adults to use and if you fall you'll just land on grass and get a bit muddy. There is a lots of activities for kids/adults but a few of them have charges putting/crazy golf, train ride, boats etc. There is two different kids play area for different ages and it is free and there Slides, climbing frames, assault course, swings, etc. There a few picnic tables about but if it's really busy you'll be hard pushed to find one that's empty. There is a large grass area where you can play football, rugby ,tennis and if you can't find a picnic table get some blankets and have lunch. There is plenty of toilets dotted all over the park. There also places to buy food. You can walk around the park and see Craigtoun mansion House/ hospital from behind a fence. Just a shame no one has renovated it yet. There's also a nice walk round the pond to see small waterfall. If you have walking issues the paths are smooth but there is a tractor with carriages but I'm not sure what days it runs.

First time I had been back in over 35 years. Brought back so many great memories. It’s such a beautiful park and the garden were in Bloom. It’s a shame that Dutch Village was closed for refurbishment but it didn’t spoil the enjoyment. Only reason I’m giving three stars and actually I would have given two stars would’ve been for the catering. The café was pretty awful. The coffee was not nice at all. We did not finish that and the prices for what you were getting were overinflated. My mother had a toastie That was very basic and I had ordered a chicken mayo sandwich which was so disgusting and bland. I took a bite out of it and could not finish it. The mayonnaise was on soft white bread (no option other than cheap white pan bread) leaking all over the place. It was more like a mayonnaise sandwich. I feel some attention needs to be made to the food area as it really is a disappointment to what was otherwise a lovely day out. In summary, I would recommend you bring your own food and drink with you.
