I'm afraid my experience at craufurdland was not a positive one at all. I was badly injured trying to land after the final zipwire of the younger tree top trial. I lifted my legs as instructed (and I am only 5ft 2) but hit the landing platform so hard I went back up the zipwire. It is not designed for adults to land on at all and all adults in my group had rough landings, but not injuries like mine. I now know my calf muscle is torn. Almost 3 weeks later and I can barely walk. It is likely to be another month before I can drive. I understand that there is always a risk of injury, and although this was very distressing what I found more distressing was how it was handled. Our instructor stood just looking at me in the middle of the zipwire for what felt like a good few minutes before answering me or doing anything at all. She then pulled me towards the platform where my husband helped get me back onto the platform as she seemed out of her depth. Once I managed to get stood up on my 1 good leg she walked off down the steps and left me. There was no offer to check my injury, no helping me down the steps or of first aid. Zero concern was shown despite the fact that I was clearly in pain, upset and unable to walk alone. I would expect all of the instructors to have been trained in how to handle such a situation and even if they are not first aid trained, to know when it is needed. If I had been offered an ice pack or to sit with my leg elevated I may have started to recover from the injury quicker. I complained to management when emailed asking for feedback, requesting a response a week ago and they have ignored me. Will most definitely never...
Read moreMyself and my 5 year old daughter had a great time here today, the instructor Cassian was amazing, he made sure everyone knew what they were doing and happy before letting us tackle the course. Very helpful, friendly, patient and encouraging with the kids. Couldn’t have asked for more from him and the overall experience and the price we paid. My daughter said she wants to live on the course and do it 500 times a day! Expect to get your clothes and shoes slightly dirty, best to bring a change of shoes to wear in the car on the way home to avoid the mess I had to deal with! Perfect activity for 5-10 year olds, confidence building and helping them believe in their abilities. 10/10. Thanks to Cassian for being amazing. We’ll...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Took my wife and two kids (aged 9 and 11). Neil was our guide and he made us feel very welcome straight away. He was also really good at making my kids feel confident about the equipment and what to do once they were in the trees! Worth mentioning it felt very safe given all the current Covid guidelines. We took part in the Pioneer Experience. All in it took just over two hours. Don't underestimate the challenge! At points this was a really scary activity. However we got through it as a family and felt awesome afterwards. There was a real sense of achievement for us all! My top tip would be book early enough in th day so you can grab a coffee and some cake from the Laird's Table cafe afterwards, you...
