Plenty of interesting walking routes with historical features to see. The pathways are well maintained and easy to follow due to effective route markers. There are information boards next to most of the historical features. You can get a pdf map of the estate off their website so you know what walking routes to follow. A few areas were sadly overgrown on my recent visit and it made it tricky to see some of the features however this is possibly just a seasonal issue. There are plenty of interesting plants and trees to spot as you wander round the different areas. The mature trees certainly provide fantastic shelter on most of the pathways when the rain starts. The area seems to be well...

Dalzell great place to walk about if your thinking of walking around Barronshaugh don’t bother RSPB have no money to repair paths , no intention of doing so for bird watching public but let the river take over Shameful attitude to a great natural resource. How hard can it be to maintain a circular walkway, not much, even the north side of the wetland is barrier of by unbridged burn , just put some sleepers across Sad demise of a wonderful area instead spending time on...

Lovely park to visit. So many routes to take throughout the park. I used to enjoy walks there with my Westie who passed away last year. Excellent place to see many small and larger birds. Seen quite a few Grey squirrels too. A lot of historical stuff within the grounds too. The Mausoleum and old graveyard is situated within the grounds of the park with many graves dating back...

Great place to go walking. Caters for a wide range of interests from Birdwatching at the nearby RSPB site, to sites of historical significance (although these are not well signposted) such as the St Patrick's Well, Covenanters Oak, or the Listening Cave. There is also a beautiful Japanese Garden with a wide range of plants to see.

One of the most beautiful and tranquil places for a walk (or run, or cycle) in and around Lanarkshire. So much history, so many hidden nooks and crannies. You can also walk from here onto the Clyde walkway. Also just along from Dalzell is the old Saint Michael's Graveyard which is a local gem, almost unheard of by outsiders.
