Amazing - words don’t do this justice, look at the photos and videos!
I walked in from Kincardine O’Neil, but there is a lay-by right beside the falls, so you can drive right there and walk down the bank to the waterfalls.
A walk from the village is nice and relaxing, free parking behind the village hall, across the road from the Old Smiddy. If you walk across to the phone box in front of the Old Smiddy, this is an information centre, free maps for this walk and other longer and shorter walks, along with other local information.
Most of the walk is well signposted, but watch out for the track that takes you to the viewing gallery, looking down on the falls, I did this first and what a view!
If you walk back and across the wooden bridge it takes you across to the other side of the water and you can get right down to the falls. It’s amazing how relaxing the water falling down through the...
Read moreNice little waterfall that you can get to if you're mobile down a steep, worn path from a parking area just above it. Only space for 2/3 cars there though. There's also a walk nearby that gives you a nice view down over it. You can get across to the pool at the foot of the falls by using stepping stones or balancing across a log over the stream. Deserted on a weekday evening, but on a nice day you definitely wouldn't be guaranteed parking right next to it. You can dip in the pool right under the falls and its deeper than it looks. Good fun! Reminds me of the old herbal essence shampoo advert under the waterfall! Photos today were in a dry period so more impressive after heavy rain. Worth a visit if passing and nice walks through the woods there too. It lost a star as sadly there was a lot of litter there, which was...
Read moreLovely waterfall which wouldbe great for a dip for those who enjoy wild swimming. It can be quite difficult to get down to, we parked in the lay-by on the road above, and climbed down a very steep "path" to get down, but some people may prefer to walk the route from the town which leads to a viewpoint in the trees above the waterfall but I don't think you can get down to the waterfall from that route. So if you want a close view taking the steep climb down is your best option. It only takes 5 minutes to get down and the path is quite obvious although difficult to tackle. I would say it is worth the effort and this waterfall would look spectacular after...
