Robert (me) and Margie. I took Margie to the Campsie Hills as it was her first time. She love it. So we drove further into the hills and took more photos. We came to a right turn on the road and stopped to find out on google map ehat was further down that road. I seen a large Loch. So we drove towards it and took more photos when we got there. Then decided to drive to the end of it. Which we were so glad we did so, as we came to Duncarron and seen the forestry entrance and seen the poster for the Medieval fort. I was like Yessss we need to go in here. Ya dancing bear. No known what we would see here. We spotted this guy dressed up in Robin Hood type clothes. Yesss. Photos. He told us about the Fort and to give it a visit and see others dressed up the same. So we headed up like he said. Well to our surprise, things got better. We signed in at the gate and they took our Email addresses. The other guys told us about what was to happen here and how things are progressing etcetera. There are swords and other weapons for you to see and handle and dress up if possible. There is going to be other events like the Red Coats and others similar the Braveheart and past Medieval History. Things are to get better as time goes on, so they need all the advertising they can get. There is a Facebook page you can look at to find out future events. So spread the word and let this place be known. Its good fun for the kids too and a wonderful day out. Entry fee this month is free. But will have to pay in the coming month's. It will be worth the month for what we have seen. This event we expand as time goes on. Its going to be excellent. Its awesome. Fantastic. Post your photos everywhere you can do. ( These Guys Have Put Lots Of Money Into This For Our Enjoyment ) so let this Happen enjoy enjoy enjoy you day out...

I wish I could rate less than one ★☆☆☆☆
We had high hopes for our visit to Duncarron Medieval Village during our holiday from Essex, but unfortunately, our experience left us deeply disappointed. After driving for over an hour to reach the village, we were shocked to find out that they required £15 per person for entry. The worst part was that there was no mention of tickets or pricing on Google Map, where we had initially checked for information.
Upon raising our concerns, the staff dismissively claimed that they do not manage the Google place data, which felt unrealistic and unprofessional. We expressed that had we known about the ticket requirement, we would have planned our visit differently to avoid the long drive for nothing. Sadly, their response was a simple "sorry" with no attempt to accommodate or rectify the situation.
While they suggested we should have checked their website for accurate information, it raises the question of why they had a presence on Google Map at all, if the information provided there was misleading. The lack of transparency and unwillingness to assist customers left us feeling disheartened and undervalued.
The staff's attitude was far from accommodating, and it seemed they had no concern for the inconvenience caused to visitors. It's essential for any tourist attraction to treat their customers with respect and kindness, especially when such misunderstandings arise.
Unfortunately, our visit to Duncarron Medieval Village ended up being a significant letdown, overshadowing the other plans we had for our holiday. We hope that in the future, they will take measures to improve communication and customer service, ensuring a more pleasant experience for...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying we got off on the wrong foot and that might have tainted my experience. This place is difficult to find. Poorly signposted and satnav takes you to the staff entrance. Never mind, we stumbled across someone to give us directions and found the carpark, which is where the next issue arose. £55 for a family ticket and they wanted more money for parking. The absolute audacity of it. And I know they’re going to comment and say I could have parked on the government maintained roads/car parks meant for people exploring the area but you’re a private company charging a small fortune. Why should I then have to inconvenience other people when there’s no other way of getting to you?
Anyway, this event was hyped up to be amazing so we paid the £2 parking fee and went up. Wonka-esque would be my description, and I’m talking about the disappointing Glaswegian affair rather than a magical factory. The people dressed up seemed to be having a better time than any of the punters.
We hung about for an hour or so hoping something would change and the place would come alive but eventually decided to patch it and go for a curry in Stirling, which was great.
My understanding of medieval times was that it was all a bit rubbish, so in that respect it was very...
