I went here with some family who were over from Ireland after a wedding and a heavy night of drinking. Believe me we were probably as pessimistic as they come. So we parked up, stuck her in neutral and low and behold the car starts reversing up the hill. I nearly feared i wouldn't be able to stop the car for a second. Don't hop out of the car while it's in neutral. Just a little tip from me. It was short lived as it appears to be a busy enough route given the beautiful views along the coastal drive. I would highly recommend coming here. It's probably one of the top sights to experience in the area. My brother read somewhere that it might even be a class two relic although I can't confirm this. 100% would go again, might even make it a yearly trip.

Be careful, the road has quite fast traffic passing, and...

Not sure we fully understood this. The description on the info stone wasn't easy to understand. From what I gather the effect is if you are stationary on the road and you see which way the car rolls. Due to the land sloping sideways in front of you and the curve of the road, it looks like you are rolling opposite to the way you think the road is sloping. If that's the case, then there are many roads this occurs on where bend cambers can...
