Family of 4 (2 small kids) loved the walk. It is a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommend it. Nice beach, public toilets, and restaurants are nearby . During the walk you will have to climb some small rocky steps at some stage and cross a very short but intricate path ( narrow ) with the waterfall waters to one side and no banisters in the side of a 2 metres fall … that made me giggle because the bannisters/ fences were on the side of the rocky wall. I guess that is to avoid kids climbing and falling over. You can still hold yourself from them and also from a rope attached to the wall so you can be safe. All this give you the feeling of adventure. The place wasn’t empty , there were people walking around, and wifi was excellent . Oh!! I know, you are never to high and the water is not deep at all but is rocky and sliding. So be careful . Wear proper shoes, and mind the trees roots. They are prominent all over the floor. One of my little kids is autistic so we were super careful with all that kind of details .

The Car Park itself was easily accessible from the road and free, we approached from Inverness. The roads leading aren't too bad, through the villages close by they can be a little narrow. But the walk from the car park, which also has a few bike racks available, is decently sign posted. The area is beautiful, the sound of birds ringing in the air. There is a donation bin along the walk way, which helps them maintain the area. The path isn't too bad, although there are a few spots that are affected by tree roots. As you can see it was a lovely day, but I can imagine the roots could be slippy when wet. Even though the days had been really nice leading up to our visit, with little to no rain fall, the falls we're still a wonderful sight to see. I shall be returning again, I shall try and get a day that has had a pretty decent rainfall, so I can see the falls in all its glory. Would highly recommend the walk. Stunning!

Access note, late August 2024 - use the path along the right hand side of the stream, accessed from Rosemarkie beach, (signposted to Fairy Glen) rather than from the top of the car park, as a landslip has closed the route from the car park. Beautiful walk up a pretty glen alongside the stream to the falls. The walk is a little over a mile (30 minutes or so at chat pace) gently uphill with a few very short steeper sections with steps - no great fitness required but not buggy or wheelchair friendly. There are two sets of large falls. The second is reached by climbing the steps - which don't appear to go anywhere - set into the hillside to the left of the first falls. The second are worth going to though and it's only a little further. I think there is another car park near the head of the town but signs seemed to indicate that it was closed.

Whilst staying at the CCC in Rosemarkie we had a lovely walk to the falls. A pretty trail through the woods to one waterfall then another further along the trail. WORD OF WARNING. Make sure you take the correct path, you need to have the stream to your left if walking from Rosemarkie up to the falls (the bridge is out on the other side) The paths are not suitable for the infirm, there are lots of roots, rocks and other hazards along the path and there are two difficult sections where you have to scramble up some quite slippery rocks. I believe the waterfall at the top can be accessed more easily from the road above.

First its a beautiful drive after leaving A9. Nice landscapes, mountains and a little drive basically zero metres to the lake. You will drive through a few nice villages wishing you had time to stop and visit. We didn't! You will park in Rosemarkie village and walk up a stream. This walk is not good for push chairs eventhough I have seen a family do it. Its less than a mile walk to the waterfall but you can keep walking if you want, we didn''t 😊 The waterfall is nice, the sound gives you a relaxing feeling we had a little picnic there. Adoring the sight of Fairy Glen and listening to it sing.

This park is almost in no man land and connections from Inverness are very sporadic . Bus is running like every 2 or more hours ( Saturday ) which is a shame because park is wonderful and if they make it regular bus from capital I'm sure more people would love to visit it . The walk from car park takes around 20-30 min to the waterfall through beautiful forest . The road is marked properly so I don't think you can get lost . The waterfalls are really nice so prepare to spend some time there especially of you wanna get milky pictures . Bad thing is , there is no toilet there .
